ls/vtec burning oil?

I have an ls/vtec with a b18b1 bottom an b16 p3 head. I've had it for a week now and it seems to run fine.. exception of it warming up it revenue up and down. Anyways it appears to use oil alot. This morning the cel came on for the first time and I checked oil and it was almost dry. does anybody know why this setup could be using so much oil?

how long does it take to run dry? what conversion kit did you use? was there any leaks oil stains or any sings of internal or external leaking of the block or head? and last how or who did you buy parts from (someone close,or a strange guy promising you the parts were like gold)

well heck ever since i put more oil in it it doesnt appear to be burning. the oil level has stayed the same for a few days so idk. i did not do the swap. but the conversion kit was a golden eagle kit. it seems to be really realiable besides the cel that comes on sometimes during startup. and there is a ticking sound but i think it is the injectors.
