Ok, so I finally got the ecu jumper harness from password jdm and just had it put on. Now my car runs smooth like a champ! Before putting in the obd1 gsr ecu, I was using a obd2b si ecu. My car was running like crap. It felt like I was miss firing all the time whenever I was under 4k rpm. Now that I have the gsr ecu in, it's finally running how it should. My question is, does anybody know why it did that and what caused the car to run like crap? My motor is a 94 gsr into a 99 ek coupe. Thanks in advance for any feedbacks!

So besides it being a obd1 engine and using a obd2b ecu, I am just curious why it was lagging so much. I originally thought it was my msd dizzy, so I bought a 94 oem dizzy and put it in and I still got the same results. That was when I decided to buy a ecu conversion harness and now the motor runs fine and the lagging is gone. My original question is what is the difference between the obd1 gsr and the obd2b si ecu, besides them being different years? I know one difference is that the obd1 has less sensors, but what else?

the ecu wont be able to read correct so your fuel maps and such was prolly all over the place.those sensors are what makes thing run smooth and tell the ecu what to do.

ahhvtec: so what i'm getting from you is that the reason why my motor was running so crappy was that the si's ecu had more sensors that it's looking for vs the gsr ecu.. another question would be what sensors was the si looking for on the obd1 b18c1? thanks
