My stock exhaust is beginning to leak at the flex pipe so what a better reason to go aftermarket. A local exhaust shop custom bends stainless exhausts for cheap but ill need a muffler so id like some opinions. I want one that looks semi stock but with a little "growl" in the higher r's. I really like the ws2 but is out of my price range. Its for an 07 ex if it helps or matters

Probably not but you can look into it. But I would guess that the replica exhausts are not on the fore front with such a new car.

If you only need a muffler (hope this shop you wrote of does mandrel bends) then Ebay will work. Vibrant makes a black sleeper muffler and I bought one. It has been known to be quiet for a straight threw design but, if there is even a slight chance of getting pulled over for exhaust, I also strongly suggest you buy a resonator (goes after cat) to quiet things down.

Should be able to get a muffler and resonator for less then $230 shipped. Any cut corners will most likely result in some crappy sounding exhaust that you are not happy with.

Best option (in my opinion) is the WS2 you wrote about. Save up......make it happen b/c its a pretty big part of your driving experience and looks.

Checked last night and unfortunately they dont. Yes they do mandrel bend. I called for a quote the other day and he said it would around 200 without a muffler for 2.25 stainless. I really like the vibrant but the videos I watched on youtube seemed pretty loud. If i cant find anything ill probably go with it. Id love to get the ws2 but unfortunately thats not an option. With student loans coming into the picture very shortly, next month :(, its just too far out of my budget.

you could just replace the flex pipe? seems like the best option to me.

I could but the derelict that had the car before me did some hack job shady mechanic job on the entire exhaust which is another reason id like new. He literally cut the cat out and just welded in a piece of pipe. Back towards the muffler it looks like he welded whatever pipe he had laying around and its not even the same size piping. If I can find a way to get an underneath picture ill post one this beauty of a job

My apologies

Those are probably way out of his price range. He was looking at a $250 replica catback...

Indeed. If it werent for student loans I would probably get the vibrant system. Unfortunately thats not the case so im going to have a local shop do the tubing and get a muffler. Im leaning toward the vibrant streetpower but has any anybody had one or heard anything about them?

I put a flowmaster on my brothers 91 si about a month ago. It ended up being quieter in the cabin than the burnt out stocker it replaced. Nice and quite under light throttle with a hint of burble. Has a good grumble when you wind it up to higher rpms. If done right a flowmaster can be a good option. Also check out magnaflow. I liked the way my old crx sounded with a magnaflow resonator and muffler. Vibrant makes some good sounding units as well.

if you go w/ Magnaflow be sure to run a resonator..
