Alright. So I have a 2000 honda civic and it has a b18b1 with a b20z head on it. I want to turbo it. But with the motor set up does anyone know what kind of compression this is throwing? Also how many lbs of boost should I daily it on???
 
I figured my compression would be worse than that lol. Im not gonna be able to afford to dyno it and see what its pushing so could you tell me about how many lbs of boost I should run?
 
Hate to bust your bubble. Unless that is a rare P08 B20 head you didnt change anything. The B18b and the b20b/z all use the same head. The b18b exhaust cam is a upgrade over the b20b other than that everything is the same.

So three for you will have the stock b18 compression.
 
Look at the head is it a P75 or a PR8?? Most B20Z's came with a P75 which is the same as the B18B1. The PR8 is super hard to find, has better intake cam, larger intake valves so it flows a bit better. If the motor is healthy and tune is good 8-10lbs should get you around 230-250 and be a good DD. Put a Vtec head on it and 280-300 on the same boost is possible.
 
Yeah my bad. I meant p8r head. I dont know why I was thinkin p06. There are becoming alot more of these available. I have found alot lately searching CL. I must have been out of it. I couldnt type for shit and made my self look like a total moron.

If you are going to boost your car then you NEED to have it dyno tuned or it will just blow up. Stock injectors are way to small, stock fuel pump is also way to small, the factory tune will not handle boost or larger injectors than stock. Tuning is a must for the larger injectors and the now large amount of compressed air that is being forced into the motor. If not the motor will run very lean as soon as it is boosted and will go BOOM.
