why'd u go w/ those coilover over the other ones.. other ones were basically the best you could get, right?

AST 4100 > KW v3

The KWs have more adjustability since they're twin tube with bump and rebound adjusters, but the AST 4100's damping curves are superior, they're monotube, and they handle MUCH higher spring rates. The KW's come with 80N/mm (459lb/in) springs and can only handle up to about 100N/mm (571lb/in) before needing a revalve per KW's recommendation- these 4100s and perfectly happy with the 800lb/in springs and are actually more comfortable than stock on the street with rates that high. The valving was developed by a bunch of SCCA/NASA guys specifically for the S, plus they've been winning championships on them too. I just couldn't pass them up at the deal that I got.

The KW v3s are generally considered the best for the S2000 guys for street/track mix at a good price point that street guys are willing to shell out for ($2k-ish), but quite a few of the competitive track guys have switched to AST for racing on a budget. Of course, the "base" model ASTs are still quite a bit more than the v3s, so they're not really talked about that much within the street only crowd.

Bonus items too- AST's US headquarters is right here in Dallas, located in the same building as Moton's US headquarters- because AST just bought Moton too. :D

right on..i ask because i was tellin my buddy w/ the S that you ended up getting something better.. he was curious what, said the KW's were the best you could get basically

Microsoft decided it would be nice to delete some of my pictures on a rename instead of notifying me that something was about to get copied over... so some of these are missing. :(

Overall the whole car dropped 10 pounds too- the OEM rears were 4lb heavier than the ASTs.

Ride height changed a bit- I cranked the rears up about a half inch, and the front came down a hair. Once I tune the ride height right where I want it, the alignment will be done. Maybe Friday.
