Check your oil level. How long has it been since you changed it? Pump could be going out, something is causing it to see less pressure, or think that it is.

really? no one knows? i stumped everyone? now i really am screwed.

i put in a new one right after that post. same thing still happens. but now the same kind of thing is happining with the fuel pump. seems like it gets hot and dont want to work. and its brand new

its got 10 40 in it now. i think its just a wacked electrical system. the fuel pump is all janky too. so who knows.

the wires sometimes get brittle and break exposing wires. Check the sensor wire to see if it's grounding somewhere..

If your mechanical, rig up a brass/alum block with threaded ports for a grease gun on one side and the threading for the sensor on the other. Hook a multi-meter to it and pump away. THe grease shouldn't pump up into the sensor, well, nothing that a little carb cleaner jet nozzle won't clean out. (HEY! THAT SHOULD BE A STICKY.. GLAD I THOUGHT IT UP)
Does the sensor make continuity?
Does it jump around? (the reading)
Just for the heck of it, stick a pipe cleaner in there a little bit to see if you have clogged arteries.
