1/3200 odds of a person getting hit/hurt when the strike zone covers most of earth?! I don't like them odds. lol

NASA put the chances that somebody somewhere on Earth will get hurt at 1 in 3,200. But any one person's odds of being struck have been estimated at 1 in 21 trillion.

1 in 21 trillion that you'll get hit directly, but 1 in 3200 that you'll be hurt? That's like 90,000 people in the US alone... Forget nuclear, sounds like it's got space AIDS or something. :ph34r:

EDIT: Wait, 1 in 3200 that someone will get hurt. That's different, nevermind. :p

haha this is an old atmospheric research satellite. UARS (Upper Atmospheric Research Satellite), my project manager used to operate/fly that mission.
