Does anyone know why the 1992 Civic Si did not recive a OEM Rear Swaybar?? I think it is the only Si not to recive one (refering to EF, EG, EK)

I do not think any of the Si's have one. Mine did not have one (although it is a 1992 as well)

They have front but no rear. I hit up a junkyard for GSR lower control arms and sway. $70 plus some black paint......easy install and its the best bang for the buck I've ever done.

Honda got lame after building the EF. Most EG's and EK's didn't come with rear sway bars.

but it depends on use, i was just going through this with a fellow auto-x'er, if you put a rear sway bar on thats a decent size, chances are you're going to need a subframe addition (acr subframe for instance) to make sure it doesn't rip a hole through the body. It does make the handling night and day though, its an amazing upgrade

You can put a GSR, LS or 4dr EG sway on without any subframe brace. ITR or bigger should have this brace.

going to pick up some Skunk2 LCA's, just want to make sure a Stock OEM Rear Sway will bolt up to the Skunk2 LCA.

I hear Skunk2 LCAs have bad bushings. But yes they will work, they have 3 positions for a sway bar I believe.

I just put a stock rear sway bar on my EG coupe Si. I everything went in with ease plus the car feels so much better.

Incorrect, depending on driving style and if you're going to autocross it or track it, I would always recommend a subframe brace. It's cheap insurance against damaging your subframe.

Aye. From what I understand Civic stock rear subframes are weak as hell. I always thought things like a beaks* lower tie bar were showy junk but this is not so. You should get one with a rear sway or not.

I wasn't referring to tie bars, I was referring more towards like an ASR subframe brace, now that will prevent tear out. It's exactly what I run. I love it, no issues at all.

I know what you were talking about and what I'm talking about. ^^/. I didn't say anything about a rear sub frame brace. The edition of both is a good idea (if you model/sway set up can fit both) because there is a decent amount of flex there.

I've had my hatch with a Integra sway on for almost 3 years with no subframe brace. The 4-Door 92-95 EX came with one stock (I believe its 13mm). I measured mine (with a wrench lol) and its around 14mm. ITR is over 20mm. But I haven't auto crossed it. Just spirited driving.

I've seen pics of EG's with subframe rip outs and its nothing nice. They were 23mm or bigger sway bars. I have not run across any problems nor have a heard of rip outs with the smaller OEM sways. Although I cannot contest to a hard day racing at a track. If I did.....ASR for sure. I wouldn't want to risk it.
