90% income tax from ~61-65? really? Sucked to be making bank at that point.
Meh if I made a billion dollars, I think id be pretty happy with 100 million. If I made 100 million 10 million would be nice. At a certain point there's just too much wealth for one person. Yea id have as many toys as the next guy if I hit it rich but seriously people? There's being rich and being mega rich.
We are guaranteed the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Where did people get the idea this guaranteed equal results? I'm not bill gates. I probably never will amass the wealth he has but it isn't something I envy. It's something I respect. Not from a materialistic point of view but the man had an idea and built himself an empire. That is what America is. We all have the option to build the life we want. The idea of making successful people pay for success goes against everything this country should stand for
I think we should be kept "equal". And by that, I mean a flat tax. Everyone contributes the same percentage. Want more money? Work more. They misunderstand what Jefferson wrote. He said "created equal", meaning we all begin the same, have the same chance. Not "to be kept equal". That is what they teach people in school these days though.

"But the rich can afford to contribute more!"
And you could "afford" to lose 30 pounds per capita America, but no one is forcing you. Were punishing people for making more money.
"But most millionaires/billionaires inherit the wealth!"
Inherited wealth was taxed when it was earned. This tax bracket is for people who still earn. It still take an intelligent person to not run the family business into the ground. And if you have reached a point where you are simply an investor and get your check, good for you.
They can't even stop tooth-less hill billies from making their own booze. They aren't forcing McDonald's out of business anytime soon. They'll be forcing us to eat what they want us to soon enough. They always start with the kids first... already done.
It all comes back to the government. Rather than see how much cash they have and budget what it gets spent on, they decide what they want to do, and raise taxes to cover the costs. It's an ass backwards way on doing business.Inherited wealth was taxed when it was earned, correct. Also, when it was inherited.. I realize what you were trying to say. I'm stating its worse than just that. Everything is double/triple taxed.. maybe more depending on the products/state you live in. Shit costs as high as it does because of taxes, imported or domestic.

I disagree entirely. Most gym/vegeitarians/healthy/etc lifestyle people are all liberal sociliasts.
You're missing the point. If what I say is true, and our government has crafted an insidious plot to keep us fat and stupid, it would only be so people don't know any better when radical and damaging change is forced upon them, or, that they won't have the will to resist.I disagree entirely.
