I have a 99 d16z6 mini-me swap. I was having vacuum problmes and it was causing a bouncing idle. Fixed all that nonsense and idle smoothed out. Now im having a problem with the rev limiter. When i put the car into first and give it a little gas the rev limiter kicks in and i can barely drive the car. Would this be caused by an ECU problem or bad ECU??? Any help is greatly appreciated

You sound like ur in limp mode if u havent figured out the problem mind did the same thing turned out to be my tps had bad ground. I cut in to the ground wire an ran a ground to the firewall an got it to fully rev

i had the same problem mine hit 3500 thoe it was in limp mode but wat i did to fix it was my tps wasnt getting a ground check the green wire on the tps with a volt meter if u dont have one slit the wire cove back dont cut it judt get wire showing an grund it to firewall an try that an let us kno if that fix is it

mines doing the same thing just put tps in it and now it hits rev limit at 3,000rpm im gonna go try a new ground and let you know thanks guys for the help

I went into limp mode because of a collant temp sensor once. Kindda wierd, but sometimes just unplugging sensors and plugging them back in can fix it.
