Soviet Bloc cops aren't known for being intelligent.

Looks like the team handled it well, then the fans came on the field, all downhill for the asshole with the billy-club after that.


EDIT: They're not cops, they're private security for the stadium.
 
Yea. No one rushed the field til they started beating a detained man. One guy running on the field doesn't really count as rushing in my book. Just like a streaker there's bound to be one or two at events every once in a while.

They're probably used to it over there. Worst we get here is streaming toilet paper, streakers, and the occasional bag of piss. Yes, that happens.
 
Flares are pretty much the norm for large events in Europe. In Germany, the road flares in your car (required to carry two by law) "expire" every five years. So there's always a steady supply of flares that you "need to use up."

Id be willing to bet they were hitting because he was still trying to resist. Can't know for sure though. If people would stop running out on the field, this all would have been avoided.
