Hey guys, new here.

I searched like hell for a thread about this, but can't seem to find one. Basically what I'm trying to find is a sort of DIY for this swap. This will be my first motor swap so I would really like some sort of guideline (the more detailed the better) on everything needed for this swap.

Right now I have a 1996 Accord EX, 5 speed, 2 door, OBD1, F22B1 vtec motor. Here is a link to the H22A I would like to swap in. JDM Engine - JDM Motors - JDM Parts - JDM Transmission - Honda Cars, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Toyota

It includes Complete Engine - 5-Speed Transmission - ECU - Intake Manifold - Exhaust Manifold - Distributor - Alternator - Starter - A/C Compressor - Power Steering - Throttle Body - Clutch - Fly Wheel - Pressure Plate. Is there anything else needed? I read on another thread that the axles and hubs on the accord now will still work with the new tranny. Can anyone confirm this?

Also, for $300 the LSD tranny is available. Should I add this? Is LSD really useful on a 200 crank hp car? I don't really have big plans for this motor. A very BIG maybe on turbo down the road, but probably nothing more than a few minor bolt-on parts.

I know I'm asking a lot for my first thread, but I just want to get as much information on this as possible before I even attempt to begin this swap.

If anyone has any information or possibly a link to a DIY of some sort I would really appreciate anything you have.

Thanks in advance.

Alright, I need to update some info and cant edit posts yet. I just found out that my motor is in fact OBDII. So the motor I am now looking at is going to be here, JDM Engine - JDM Motors - JDM Parts - JDM Transmission - Honda Cars, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Toyota

Very disappointing since this motor is an extra $400, no LSD tranny option available on this one.

This motor still comes with Complete Engine - 5-Speed Transmission - ECU - Intake Manifold - Exhaust Manifold - Distributor - Alternator - Starter - A/C Compressor - Power Steering - Throttle Body - Clutch - Fly Wheel - Pressure Plate

Quick search explains all

... maybe the search function is too smart for me, but after searching... a lot... I only managed to find small bits and pieces of information here and there. What I initially asked is if anyone knew of a step-by-step DIY on this swap. Which a quick search did not explain.

if this is an obdI to obdI swap...pull the old motor, put the h22 in ( you can used the h22 driver side mount or shave the accord one so it will fit). change out the ecu's and go. If you have an external coil on the accord you will have to adjust the wiring on the harness so the internal coil will work. good luck

are you serious? is it really that easy??? i have a 95 obd1 and want to do the h22 obd1. it was always just a thought because i know ill never be able to do any of the wiring. i have an internal coil. if its all plug and play like that i will do it. thanks

the dist will need some wiring adjustments but that is it as long as you have the h22 harness.

This is no help just saying: swap any h22 it doesn't matter because wiring will always be the problem also I research most h22 obo I & obo II complete motor & led tran is $3000 + passport motor mount + shipping came up to $4000. One more thing f22 tran is longer then h22 so h22 tran is kind a made for racing since close radio or gear. In other words most people prefer f22 tran during to more comfortable when driving. "This information don't help much"

I was about to ask the same question. Contact administrator is my answer & also the h22 swap is a similar idea I was thinking.

ur also gonna need a driver side motor mount from a 92-96 lude all others are ok.also throttle cable w backet and foot pedal from 92-96 lude. i gonna try to attach my swap guide to this post. oh another thing is ur fuel injector resistor box. dats gonna have to be rewired for ur injectors if not it will never start. accord injectors are 10 omhs and preludes are 2-3 omhs. and for the $300 extra for lsd i would get it, thats a good deal. u can use existing accord harness and all u have to do is rewire the resistor box. and if ur accord is internal coil then what u do is get ur h22 dizzy and replace the insides w a 94 d16z6. and ur gonna need a prelude down pipe to connect to header. thats all i can think of for now hope this helps. good luck my fellow swapper.lol

this is false information. the accord mount will work, you may have to shave a little off of the guide (you will see it when you get it in the car). you can do it with a grinder or band saw. You may need the throttle bracket but you do not need the pedal or cable. you can make all of the adjustments you need on the accord cable. You also dont have to worry about the resistor box. If you are going obd1 to obd1 they are both peak and hold injectors . and for the distributor the prelude internal coil will work just fine. check your wiring...IIRC you have to move a pin or a wire. You dont need to replace the internal parts with any other dist.
