Alright just wondering if anyone runs the bisimoto headers and if they are really worth the money?????? i have a b18c r in my crx and was looking for new headers because the bottom of mine are caved in due to ground clearance isues but i bought some coilovers going to get more clearance and looking for some new headers.

I had a Bisi header but sold it. If you check out some of the SOHC Honda forums, people have had a lot of issues with them, esp. regarding customer service. The welds on their header weren't too good; quite a few people had them cracked. Hopefully they've fixed it.

ebay tri y's gave me a 10 WHP gain. not bad for a 175 header

yea i see they dont work with ac but luckily i dont have ac. welds cracking really thats shitty for a 700 dollar header. tri-ys i look at those thanks

If you plan on better camshafts or head work or anything big......a quality header will have better gains with these things in place.

But if its basic build and you don't plan on going bigger/better.....any tri-y will get you there for a decent price.

Although I know some guys run into install problems with ebay overseas rip off headers (copies).

I have seen pictures of installs (rip off headers) where the collector is pointing up instead of parallel with the chassis.
This is a problem that can be fixed with some heat but why go through the trouble?

I personally had a rip off DC that lasted 6-7years before the welds gave and it fitted "okay".
I had to use gasket sealer to get the two pieces to not leak but, other than that, it worked out well.

I currently have a k-swap ASP "group buy" big tube stainless budget header and it was close to $800 delivered.
It fit like a charm and has no leaking issues (spring clamps).
Most ASP headers are custom made and cost roughly $1200 (they make B and I think D headers)

Advanced Street Performance - our quality is your peace of mind

I am all for keeping money in the hands of Americans (we need all we can get lol)

Many overseas are ripping off copies of good headers that went through a considerable amount of R&D....kinda pisses me off.

yea i heared on the crxcommunity forums guys having problems with bisi headers welds kinda sux for how expensive they are. i will look into the asp headers thanks alot. i saw skunk has some headers? i had a two pieces header and yea it sucked i went thru gaskets like it was kool on my last crx forget that im going with a one piece 4-1 i have a track bar so i got the room.

Rage headers are pretty good too. but imho, i/h/e are a waste on honda engines. 10-20hp really isn't much. You are going to spend $1500 on all that. $100/hp is a terrible ratio.

Yea, but you can get I/H/E for way less than $1,500, hell buying used can probably net them all for $500, maybe less.

i guess. but even on the cheap end an exhaust will cost $200, intake $100, and header $300. $600 for garbage. regardless, that's half of a home built turbo kit.

Not defending Bisi headers specifically, but how many actual problems have there been versus stories proliferated by the internet? We carried a helicopter kit that had a couple issues with early model speed controllers, not even a percent of the esc's were effected, but the way things read on the internet forums you'd have thought it was every single model.

Inexpensive =/= cheap.

IME wields dont crack just because. Most of the time the car is slammed and the header gets beat against the ground, this causes the wield at the flange to crack. I have been using a no name header for 2 years with no issues my car is lowered on Eibach Sportlines 1.8 inches, so my header never hits and has no dents or cracked wields.

Regarding the header, I think there was 4-5 instances on DSO(actual owners, though where most had it fixed independently), and a welder on Onecamonly/DSO reviewed the headers and Bisi and a staff member responded and agreed to review their welding process. I'm not sure how many complaints they got from the F/H/B guys though. The earlier models had the most problems(mine had the "weak" weld too but I sold it before ever using it). Bisi acknowledged the issue and agreed to fix all of the headers that were purchased within a year(no one knew about this "warranty" though as it was never stated or anything).

When I originally purchased my header, I had trouble contacting Bisimoto and ended up ordering through a dealer. Some small things I requested weren't done or addressed. The biggest back-lash came from their cams; lack of cam card and their reluctance to give out any degreeing information(remember, many of their cams aren't your typical drop-in and go cams). The reasoning behind this was competitors trying to steal their cam profiles.

Constant heating and cooling, and vibration causes cracks. Their headers were cracking at the runners...and not all runners but like one would just let go and usually away from the flange. Mind you, many people were also running flex-pipes.

Here's either a F or H series header that "cracked":

In addition to that, their design allows plenty of ground clearance(the runners and collector are above the main exhaust pipe).

It doesn't matter which header you use, unless you kick up compression and add some cams, all an I/h/e will do is make noise.
