Yeah. Same here, it's like they said "we don't want to call ourselves a punk band, what genre can we say we are?"

Personally, I don't really like this and I don't really like actual happy hardcore either. lol
 
maybe my definition of punk music is different, its all i listened to in my teenage years.. but this is more emo/screamo, its just he labeled it happyhardcore

correct me if i'm wrong, but punk music was more political.. like Dead Kennedys, etc..

I'm with the genre doesn't mean shit, but you are thinking "post hardcore". Which was after new york hardcore.. which was a spin off of punk.

Happy hardcore is def late 80's early 90's techo/house/balh/blah

Early Green Day was labeled as punk, they weren't very political. I always thought punk was anti-political/mainstream type music.
