I took home this CR-Z for the weekend. 6 Speed. 18" odyssey accessory wheels painted black with spacers in the front. 07/08 TL front brakes, suspension work, chassis bracing.

The car handles like its on rails and I'm having no issue getting over 40mpg even with the way I am driving it. I'm guessing upper 40's on the freeway. The steering and brake feel is excellent. Body roll is gone - one of the biggest complaints of the stock car. I'm enjoying everything except the acceleration.

God this thing is slow compared to my civic. Pretty sure my 5000lb truck would smoke it in a drag race too. Low rpm power is surprising - the electric motor works well there. If this had another 30hp, it would be a perfect package.

Rear visibility is terrible, but I got used to it quick. I love the seats and the layout of the IP. This car is put together very well and material quality is good considering this thing is pretty cheap. I don't care for the combined navi/audio double DIN unit. Buttons are too damn small.

wait till a gas only version is released

aka when hell freezes.

been thinking about trading my rsx in on one of these.

If you don't need a back seat, and don't mind average acceleration, this thing is fine.

Are those factory options, or a kit? or a customers' car? demo unit for the dealership
?

It was a demo unit for the automotive press. The goal was to demonstrate how a hopped up one would do around a track. It had a rediculous body kit on it but we removed it when my group received the car. They are not factory options, and no, it won't be sold as a kit. That isn't to say someone can't pull this off. With the exception of the chassis bracing, all of the parts are available to the customer.

Engine room. K20 would look better in there.

Has adjustable dampers. Couldn't determine the brand

I absolutely love the seats. They are bolstered nicely, and the material feels like it will last forever

Pretty sweet. Thats the first one Ive seen that I like. Guess the wheels are just enough.

I know they're not trying to stop a lot of weight but damn those brakes look tiny! Especially with the larger wheels.

New Honda interiors are king. New redesigned camry still looks and smells like any old Toyota. New Civics, CR-Zs, Odysseys, great feel/fit/finish/looks. I really like the instrument lay outs/colors in this and the last gen civics, the insight, CR-Z. Seriously still a world above Nissan/Toyota/Hyundai. Hyundai has the looks and crap quality. Sucks the new Civic is so ugly.

That CR-Z still has the factory accessory wing. I like the fact that this car is modded with all (or mostly, struts/bar) Honda factory shit.

The system is great. Sadly these tires are cupped badly and make lots of noise. The car has 3500 miles on the odo. The first 3K were track miles...

Nice. At some point in the spring I'll get some shocks and springs on mine, then the FlashPro will actually be able to do something, lol.

I like the seats.....even with the two tone.

I actually like any seat except my EG seats......oh how I hate them.

So 40+mpg??

My buddy gets consistent 39mpg on a bone stock 97 Civic DX coupe but he works hard to do that (lots of coasting in neutral)
But.....no PS and A/C needs a new pump so.....no A/C either.

39 average? That's pretty good for a non-hybrid. Must have been doing lots of highway driving. The CR-Z isn't an absolute champ on the highway. In fact, the non-hybrid Civic will do better according to epa ratings. The Chevy Cruze Eco will do 42 on the highway due to its obscenely long gearing. The car is a chore to drive because of that. This is due to the agressive gearing they gave the CR-Z to give it a more sporty feel. No need to downshift to make moves on the freeway. Being hybrid really helps during in-town driving. Even the most thrifty conventional car will drop into the 20's. Not this thing.

I hate the 2 tone interior how it just changes up like that.

It looks better than in the pics. It was almost dusk when I took these, so the sun was shining through the back window right onto the IP.

His 97 DX gets 39 as an average (roughly 50/50 of city/highway).
Now this is using the stock rims/tires, DX 5-spd gearing, odometer and same pump station (to ensure some consistency in the top off mechanism).

He went from a V8 Chevy Silverado Pick-Up that got high teens on the highway to this so he was all about seeing the MPG's.
