so i guess this is kinda a rant thread, verizon has a pre paid plan with unlimited everything for 50 bucks a month but you cant use smart phones and such with that plan, cool i have an old casio cell thats not smart at all just a basic cell really. but can i use this cell for the pre paid plan nope sure cant i can only use phoes they have selected for the plan, how stupid is that, the phones they have selected are even more advance than mine. so is there any way i can get around this and get on that plan with out them knowing what phone im using.

*228 programs the phone.. *22888 might do something

after a quick google search.. *22888 is how to program a prepaid phone..

i'm guessing you're shit out of luck.. lol.. every prepaid phone has only certain phones you can use, not just Verizon

any reason why you wanna go w/ a pre-paid plan? several affordable phone plans out there now.. like the one B is on

They want you to buy their phone because 1) they want to sell a phone, and 2) they want to make sure the phone works on their network

This is why carriers don't sell unlocked devices.

well ive been with verizon for about 4 years and still with them and a pay 67 dollars a month for 450 anytime min and unlimited text and thats it no internet or anything, with pre paid i would get it all unlimited for cheaper.

i really do like my current phone, but i think im paying to much for to little. so guess i will have to decided

Drop verizon and go with something on a GSM network where you can put the prepaid sim into any phone that accepts a sim. Handy for traveling in Europe too.

virgin mobile is $35 a month for unlimited data/web/text, and 400 talk minuets, but you need to buy a phone ($100-$300) and don't get the intercept... it's a POS.

i have no complaints with it. Service is just about on par with verizon for the most part. if you hate it, ditch it. no contract, ebay the phone for 80% what you paid for it, and go back to contract hell.

I'm even grandfathered in on the $25/m plan.

I am an expert on the prepaid market. I have been using metropcs since 2009.

People are using sprint phones on metro pcs like the HTC evo and are able to get voice, text, mms and data. Basically, any phone that is CDMA can be reprogramed with QPST (qualcom product support tools) if you know the correct information to put into the phone. Also, sprint phones will work on boost mobile (also prepaid). Local phone dealers at electronic shops should know how QPST works.. also there are ebay auctions for phones like the htc evo already pre-programed for metropcs.

Lately I have been thinking about switching from metropcs to T-Mobile or Simple Mobile. $60 per month, unlimited text, talk, 2 gigs web at hdpsa+ speed for t-mobile (simple mobile claims their $60/mo plan is unlimited with no data usage cap). Any T-Mobile phone is eligible for their monthly 4g plan and Simple mobile is just a reseller of T-mobile's network, with a more limited range of coverage. This means you can use new, nice phones like the htc sensation or samsung galaxy S2 on a monthly plan... provided you are willing to shell out the $$$ required to buy the phone outright ($499 for the sensation from tmobil, $360ish on ebay).

If you do not care about your phone and just want to use something that isnt expensive to buy - metropcs may have the best deals for you. Their website has phones for less than $60 after rebates, and you can get unlimited text and talk for $40, or $50 if you use one of their low end smartphones like I do.

Hope this helps.

the only think i know about pre-paid is from my cousin
he bought a pre-paid verizon phone, and just uses it with a $20/month unlimited text card
he has no pre-paid minutes/time/money, so no phone calls, just text
and they charge you for multimedia/picture messages

So thats why all the teenagers are sexting eachother. Must all be on verizon pre-paid. They cant say it so they have to sext it.

haha, thanks for the info guys, im gonna think about it over the weekend. i really do love this phone its gonna be tough lol

I'm on the same plan as B. I love it. And I actually am still using the Intercept. No complaints whatsoever. I actually think it's better than Verizon at 1/4 of the price.
