Hey I have a 96 honda civic hx and I wanted to swap the engine out for a B18. I was planning on buying a block and just building it up over at my friends shop. But before I go out and start this I wanted to know what I will need to do in order to swap the engines. Such as rewiring. Also I will end up boosting the engine. If anyone could give me a price range on what this would cost ( building a B18, rewiring, and anything else i may need).
Thanks!!

I'm looking to get 200-250 whp on just the engine it's self any ideas on what brand parts would be best. Thanks for your help

sorry im still looking for that information too seems no one wants to share there exp on there cars with us new guys :-( but i heard skunk cam shafts are good also cam gears

yea need more information.
which b18.
ls
gsr
type r
ls vtec.
price range.
you said 200 to 250 hp goal. this will be real hard to reach all motor wish without major money.
most likely you will need high comp pistons. h beam rods. fully built head. light crankshaft. and so many other things. and most likely wont be street drivable

if you went turbo on the other hand easily can reach the 250 hp range and still be street drivable.

im no expert at this but i have done my research before.

also for swapping, there are plenty of threads on how to do it. pics and all just use the search button.

I was planning on putting a turbo but if I do tht thn I was hoping around 300hp. Well what do you think would be the best to turbo charge?thanks alot man for all the help

Best turbo set up is expensive. Best anything isn't cheap.

There are plenty of great threads on this site to educate you more.

Turbo will run you $3k +/- depending on parts selected (used parts can make things cheaper for sure but buyer beware)

In my opinion, you'd be pushing a stock bottom end B18B pretty damn hard to get 300hp but a built bottom end with camshafts would be easy to get that goal and more

just build everything while you have the motor apart so just incase you do decide a turbo later on you dont have to open up the block again

Not very wise unless you want to roll around with lower compression than stock until you finally turbo. You will be a slug until $3K+ gets spent on forced induction.

I was planning on getting the bottom end remachined. My friend said it would cost $1800. I dont want to do this half fast I won't everything done right. Thanks for the input.

You should read through my build thread. I made 350whp on a stock sleeve LS only running out to 6k RPM's. I then re-sleeved it and am currently sitting at 448whp. Link is below.
