suspension upgrade

Ok the car is a 92 civic LX sedan with pretty much stock suspension and i hate it lol I know im going to be getting my rear strut bar (reason is it also makes a great sub box anchor lol) but i also wanted to get the front and rear sway bars as well (wanna try and keep my wheels planted better, did a maneuver today that was tight as hell and hated it) but what i wanted to know was if the sway bars from a 95 teg sedan would fit on my car with out modifications or would i need to drill some holes? and if anyone has some pics of mount locations that would be great thanks.

if your car didnt come with a rear sway bar, you will most likely need to make sure your lower control arms have holes for mounting the rear sway bar to it. i had a base model civic and it had the tabs, but they weren't drilled and tapped from the factory. Easiest thing to do would be to snag some from a junkyard if thats the case.

Now the 95 sedan integra rear sway bar should fit onto your civic. You'll have to get some hardware to bold it through your rear subframe though. The holes should be there from the factory.

yeah the holes are there and yeah i am going to have to get some nuts for the inside of the subframe and i was going to get a new set of lca's anyway so i would have mounting holes. the only problem im having now is what to get because i was going to get some from ebay but not really sure which to get, i know they all serve the same purpose but will the cheap ones last or are they the same as the other $150+. only reason im getting them is for the mounting holes and the new bushings that would be better than what i have now.

the bushings in the cheap LCAs are junk, i have seen blox lcas tear up in less than a year on a friends car.

yea. you can try your luck with the cheap LCAs... the bushing will most likely fail. But i think energy suspension makes legit bushing inserts. You have to get them pressed in/out.

thanks for the link ill keep that in mind for later but for now i think ill go with a set of Yonaka lca's they look pretty nice and i found some for $100 but ill look for some a bit cheaper lol

or perhaps godspeed lca's anyone know if they are any good, they are cheaper and still come with the poly bushings

i dont know if any of the cheap LCAs are better than others... but godspeed stuff is ok from what i have seen. worst case is you have to replace the bushings in a year or so.

Yeah the god speed arms look like they have better bashing than the cheapies almost like the yonaka ones

So yeah went ahead and ordered some godspeed arms so they should be here next week then to the sway bar and I'm hoping that makes an improvement lol

what springs and shocks are on the car? you said stock?

Yeah stock springs and I know I need to replace 3 of my shocks lol don't have.the king for a recent set up right now plus I'm trying to save up for 06-08 si so don't really wanna put to much into it right now

i dont know what kind of time frame you are going to have this car. if its going to be a couple years before you get your new Si, then getting new springs and shocks or complete coilovers would be nice. i see you are from miami... i bet you could get on jdmsouth or honda-classifieds.com and find some sort of cheap used setup that would be better than the worn out old stock parts. so many honda parts in south fl...

Ok well I think I may get some new shocks i now i need them badly but was just thinking of which would be better drop zone or skunk 2 . I know I'm going to keep the stock springs since they are new and don't need them changed. Only difference is about 100 dollars, any suggestions or experience?

if you are keeping the stock springs then why waste money on skunk2 shocks that are designed to work with a lower ride height? i would just go with some cheaper stock replacement style shocks, look into some KYB GR2s, or something along those lines.

so how about excel-g according to the site they show up as kyb shocks and about 200 for a set any good or anyone ever used these?
