96 JDM ITR with Brian Crower Stage 2 Cams questions

I have a 96 ITR engine & was wondering if I can put the brain crower stage 2 cams without having to get there valve train upgrade?

Can the ITR valve train handle these cams?

I know they recommend it but I just want to hear some feedback.

You should at least do the upgraded springs. the retainers are probably ok for stock redline. if you're going over stock redline, do the whole thing. would suck to blow up a 5k motor for a 200 part you skimped on....

Well I would like to rev to 10k in the future so yea i guess i should do the springs also, but until i get tuned I can only rev to 9500 rpms. Cause my chip won't let me go pass that.

Keep it under 8k until you upgrade the springs. Get tuned immediately.

From what i know, a B18C5 Type R can only Rev to 9k. Reving it to 9500 is causing a heavy stress on your valve trains.
And if anyone wants to correct me, the USDM Type R is the 96 JDM ITR Motor.
And upgrading to a Stage 2 is pointless if your sticking to all motor.
But since you have them, dont take a chance by not upgrading the valve train COMPLETELY. Those Valve trains were made for those cams SPECIFICALLY so by Upgrading to Stage 2Cams
The profile on them will be over by 12 - 24 @duration and advance so be careful.
