The girl and I picked up an 08 IS250 last weekend. She has been wanting one for a very long time and a brand new one spec'd out the way she wants it is $41,000 before taxes and fees. We got this one for a little more than half that.

Maintenance seems rather straight forward, only needing to replace spark plugs and fluids up until 200k and a member at Club Lexus has 250k on his and hes only replaced O2 sensor and A/C compressor with replacing said fluids and consumables ie brakes, tires, rotors, etc... Resale value seems higher than average for a luxury car, but im pretty sure we're gonna keep this one till it falls apart or becomes a money pit.

Ill get better pics when weather permits.

Good looking car. Always a fan. I want the is350. I've driven one and it was a great car. Lots of power and the brakes were amazing.

Nice car. I get to work on a 09 is250 from time to time and I enjoy it every time I get to play with it. I think that you will be very happy with this car for a good long time.

thanks guys. when the weather gets better, ill polish her up and get better pics with my friends DSLR.

really wished we got the 350, but that would've put is way over our budget in total and monthly costs. the additional 100hp wouldve been real fun. have no idea why Toyota downsized 3.0 litre to 2.5 litre and taking away 11hp. i think im just going to add the Fsport Intake and better plugs which should net me around 5 hp to the wheels. and maybe 2012 LED headlights.

my favorite feature about the car is the totally keyless entry and push button start. as long as you have the fob on you, just walk up to the car and it unlocks. then hold the brakes and push the big round button. love that. do other luxury brands have this? seems like Merc would.

I believe infiniti does.

BMW calls it "comfort access"

My Audi had it as well, but my 06.5 A4 wasn't a push button. All the doors were keyless entry. Very convenient after a grocery trip or while bringing your briefcase and coffee to the car.

looks like Merc. was the first to use it in 98' per wikipedia. i only asked because my friends' Acura TLs dont have it and even on the 2012 model its a part of a optional package. lame.

i think if you pay $30k+ on a car, it should come with HIDs and SmartKey as standard. the only other feature that i really wish our lexus has is the driver position memory. im about 7" taller than my girl and im 5' 7" LMAO. this creates problems when we switch drivers.

Because it's so hard to re-adjust the seats back to the way you like them .

Just kidding, it is a really nice feature.

Actually its a pain in the ass since its powered which makes it slow as molasses. Doesn't help when its raining either cuz i have to sit in the car like a contortionist until it finally gives enough room.

You should try it. Pull the sit all the way up and get in. Then slowly roll it back talking at least 5 secs. Now imagine doing it once a day or every other day. ^_^

Lol I know. Everyone had been making fun of me for my auto rain sensing wipers, luxury options really are where it's at.

The RL has had it since 05, it also has the "hey dipshit, you tried to lock your keys in the fucking trunk.. here let me keep that unlocked for your dumbass" feature.

:)

Even Chevy has had that for some years. lol

Which feature? The seat memory or SmartKey?

Many companies offer SmartKey, but from what I read, most are opt. packages unless you get the $40-50k cars and up.

@Mike: nah its an auto. its mainly the lady's ride and ive tried to teach her manual, but she rather be set on fire than drive a stick.

Ive looked at options to mod it but most are VIP-style and no real power gains unless i plan to dump in tons of money. $4000 more and I couldve gotten the IS350 with extra 100hp vs $4000 into turbos a probably not net the same hp and no longer be CARB legal or warrantied.

The lady doesn't need the extra 100 hp anyways. Plus it'll get slightly better gas mileage. My mom gets 32 mpg out of her IS350 on the freeway.

^^ thats what she said. however, i do NEED the 100hp :p

just hate the fact that I cant out run stock Civic Si's and other like sports compacts.
