Greetings from Greece, I wanted to ask you something guys..
Would buying a naked left wheel drive 92' honda civic eg6 only axles brakes and interior no tranny or engine .. and also buying a right wheel integra type r jdm to do a complete swap between those two be a good option or would I get into much trouble and won't be able to fit most parts between these two cars? What do you guys think?

I am a bodyman not a mechanic but I can do most of the engine work myself one thing. I'm wondering if I'll stumble into problems regarding the front axles since they are opposite wheel hand drives..

Thanks for any replies. ;)

Integra axles fit fine In The eg6. Doesn't matter if it's left hand or right hand drive.

Do you have an understanding of what is involved in this task or have any recommendations for a rookie like me? Thanks.

I'm talking about driveshafts, gearbox , fluid lines , wiring loom/ecu , vtec valve , suspensions e.t.c. how easily do they fit in the eg6? If it's too much work I'd better go get a regular eg6 and not do a complete swap from an integra type r .. as I said I'm just a bodyman , if there are many special tools that I can't fabricate I'd better forget it, don't like paying another car for installment fees.

If its a true EG6 then it already has a B16 motor/trans.

If its not a true EG6... What motor is in it now? VTEC?

B-series swaps are pretty easy and take normal tools (except the 32mm socket for axles at the hubs)

The chassis is an eg6 (vti or sir) so it had a b16 engine/trans by factory but the only stuff currently on the chassis is the interior , front axles , disc brakes , rear axles and struts along with the suspension construction. I'm talking about tranferring everything from a 97' integra type r rhd to the eg6.

No engine harness in the engine bay either? Harness from shock towers to cabin (both sides)?

There are a few opinions and options for throwing a OBD2 swap into a OBD1 chassis. You must use a OBD1 engine harness but you can splice/switch out a few plugs like distributor and injectors and alternator. Or.....switch them out for OBD1 parts.

Other than that....motor mounts out of the B-series line right up in the chassis. Shift linkage, axles....they all plug right in.

ECU must be OBD1.....I suggest a chipped/socketed ECU that is tunable.

Hey thanks for the reply, do you know if I can use the type r wiring harness and ecu? One clarification... the integra type r will be a full donor car I just can't afford to issue new plates for a jdm integra type r it's like 10k to get plates for such cars.. so it will be like stripping everything off of the type r and fitting them on the eg6.. that is if its a doable task for me.. I still havent made up my decision... :p

Pleas a take a moment to answer my questions about the wiring that is currently in your hatchback.

You can use the Type R stuff. Tons of those parts will switch right over with little to no mods. Seats, suspension, brakes, etc

The engine harness on the Type R will work if you have the plugs from shock towers to cabin. I believe you will have an extra plug that doesn't hook up to your OBD1 chassis. But the engine harness MUST be the same steering wheel location (LHD or RHD)

You need to use a CHIPPED OBD1 ECU that has the base map for a B-series Type R. The original ECU for the Type R will be a headache.

Please take a moment to read and research the swap threads similar to yours on this swap. Then come back with a narrowed down view and questions. Lots for you to learn. Measure twice and cut once.

I don't think that's true. OBD1 and OBD2 ECU's are in the same location in the cabin.

LHD has ECU on the right side

RHD has ECU on the left side.

I want to ask you something since you said you did some swaps and probably maintenance to your civic , considering I will be using parts from a '98 integra which are pretty old what are the most weared up parts I should opt to replace when doing the swap? Like wheel bearings for example?

Depends on the year of the ITR, what is it 32mm vs 36mm or something like that for the five lug?

Gatopardos ...unbolt the entire front A arms/knuckle/hub/calipers off the Integra, and bolt them up to the Civic, then do the same for the entire rear trailing arms. You will then have a five lug, and big brake conversion and everything will fit on the Civic.

I'm not sure if it's 32mm or 36mm,the ITR is 98 spec.

unbolt the entire front A arms/knuckle/hub/calipers

Will I have to separate the right from the left structure to remove them or do they come off as one?..oh and if I make an engine stand out of wood that supports the gearbox I will be able to take the engine with the gearbox out of the integra without having to unmount anything, do I leave the lsd on ?

Finally, do you have any manuals for the ITR that I can read, thanks for your help people. :)

All the five lugs are I believe, they changed it when they went from four to five lug on the ITR.

I don't understand what you mean. The left, and right, front and rear suspension pieces are all individual pieces, you can remove one, three, four, or two. Basically, pop the hood, undo the two bolts on top, and then the undo the brakelines, lower control arms, pop the axles out, and drop the entire assembly, then mount them into your car.

IMO it's easier to take the engine and transmission out together as one piece, and you can't just take the LSD off, you have to remove the tranny from the motor, and yes, leave it alone.

Check out Demonoid.me, you should be able to torrent them, or give me your email and I can send you my Dropbox link.

I do believe 98 spec is 36mm nut hubs so you need to grab a set of GSR or LS axles or spend dumb cash like me for 36mm nut hubs.

You'll know b/c the axle spline will go in to the hub or it'll be way too big.

Some one who has owned a 98+spec ITR correct me if I'm wrong but I dont think USDM ITR's ever had a 36mm nut hub.

DUH!! If the Integra's hub is a 36mm nut hub and they are fine....they'll swap right over and you can use the axles

Exactly, he's got the full donor car, he can just swap everything over from the teg to the Civic ;) Full motor swap, full suspension swap, the seats too, then turn around and probably sell the shell for a couple grand.
