So I'm not looking to make this a 300 hp race machine. I just use this engine in my acura integra as a daily driver. One piston is broken and she leaks oil everywhere. Any suggestions out there on what pistons to buy? and do I need to do new head bolts too or can I reuse the old ones? The main bearings looked good so i'll leave those i think. anything else I should do since its apart anyway?

go with new head studs, and don't re-use rod bearings if your in there replace them and check the journals too, valve grinding never hurts w/new valve guides, and seals, and you also stated 1 broke piston broke how and did it score or groove the cyl wall, because if so even the slightest bit your going to need to bore 10-20 thousands and re-hone w/a new rebuild piston kit, i don't recommend the cheap ass way of wider rings even if its N/A.

here is a picture of the piston. the cylinder still looks good because the piston was completly intact untill we took it out. The ridge between the rings broke off but the cylinder walls and rings didn't give it room to go anywhere.

i think I'll put in High compression pistons in while I'm at it. Is there anything else that needs to be done at the same time as high compression pistons? and can high compression pistons be paired with high compression valves? and later i will probably want to do my camshafts. do i need to worry about valves hitting pistons?

Hey don't mean to jump into your convo but I was wondering if anyone knew of a few Honda/ integra motors that will match up with the stock trans of a 94 lx?

great looks like I'll have to start a new thread to cause the only responses i've gotten are completly unrelated to my questions :(

Hey homie ,... I have the same set-up ,... 97 gsr w a b16a2,.. i got it that way IDK what they were doing i think prolly headed towards turbo on the iron clad b16a2 freak and making that gsr whoop ass ,... anyway i have had a bitch of my share of problems with the timing belt,... make sure no oil is leaking in ,.. on ,...near ,... has access to the timing belt,.. spend the extra on a whole kit water pump ,.. tensioner ,... and spring ,.. and gates or better belt ,.take your time with that end ,.... and replace valve springs,... keepers, retainers, ,... while yur in there oil pump,..make sure all the v-tec oil galleyways and little nipple things are clear and have new o rings,... and my lesson for me lost motion assemblies replaced.... v-tec solenoid has a o ring and screen ,... replace ,.. prolly where yur oil leak is festering from anyway ,.. just a few things ya should do unless you want to be taking the top end apart again and or risk really fucking the whole thing up,..... really its worth it to just do it right ,...the b16a2 really is iron clad if its put together correct,....it loves to run and another thing i do is take the coil outta the distributor cuz it gets really hot in there and its rough on the module and three sensors also located in distributor,... then ya can put a higher output coil and pick up some power in the lower rpms where that b16 is tryin to push that integra around,...
good luck and i hope that is more to questions you are asking ,....

...wut?

just picked up a 95 civic eg6 cold air intake, straight piped, stage 2 exedy clutch, lightened fly wheel, msd 6al ignition, walboro 190 lph fuel pump. just wonderin wat would be the best cheapest way to get some more power out of it thinkin of doing some internals but not sure wat to put in it, want to keep n/a. seein if any one has any recomendations

Seriously dude, A) your post has nothing whatsoever to do with this thread, B) you post has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with this thread, and C) you post has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with this thread.

Not only would starting your own thread, and asking your question there get you much better responses that are directed to YOU, and YOUR issue, you would also not have to read post like this one telling you to START YOUR OWN FUCKING THREAD!!!! You're the fourth person to post completely oblivious to the original topic.

wtf, its like people are just learning how the internet works :p

To the OP, it looks like you got lucky with that damage. As for new pistons, just stick with some OEM stuff and keep it easy. And yes you might as well up the compression a little bit with some ITR pistons.
