From the main page this thread shows up as "virgin finally gets a good" I was kind of wondering where this thread was going.

Booo for a let down end result.

Sweet! My T-Mobile contract is up next month. Ill be switching.

x2i was hoping this was nws and that it said virgin finally gets a good POUNDING.

I may end up getting the Evo 4G LTE on Sprint a year before I am eligible for an upgrade. My Evo Shift pretty much sucks. The fiance is going to be getting an Evo 4G LTE when its available locally.

i was thinking the same thing :(

congrats, virgin, on your new phone :)

How can reviews suck when it isn't even available until tomorrow?

It's always full price at vm.com. Radio shack probably will have it for 225 or so on sale.

and sure, the device is a little pricey, but there's a good resale market. I sold my intercept that i paid 100 for 75 a year later. and i'm planning to sell my wildfire that i paid 100 for on black firday and currently sells for 149 to 100, thus breaking even.

The only downfall is that the upgrade will lose my grandfathered rate of 25. i'll have to move to the 35 rate like everyone else. they sent around an email about it a fe wmonths ago that any upgrades after 5/31 will bump to current plan rates.

the $10 a month is probably worth it to me so i can hve some apps in the pool, and a little better data connection.

Look into rooting the Wildfire S. I did. Not hard at all. Memory isn't a problem now. Also, now I can use the phone as a free wireless tether.

Rooting a virgin? This is getting dirty.

All else aside, I hope you cleaned everything out of that phone before you sold it, and then used a commercial tool to do so. There's a huge (identity theft) market for used phones. At work we don't even throw out our phones, they all have to be shredded.

I don't store shit on my phone. about as most they will get to hack into is my words with friends account or facebook wall. i don't install apps for banks, or anything to do with money at all. I don't even have a linked google checkout account and have never bought a paid app in the app store.

i went to radio shack yesterday and they said they won't have it until the 10th.

guess i'll just order it online.

Personal media is all on the removable SD card and the internal memory gets formatted and stock OS ROM reinstalled before I get rid of a phone. If someone can recover my text messages/emails after that, good for them.

I would just like to publicly give a big fuck you to virgin mobile. I've been without a phone since I tried activating this on tuesday night. 50 calls and 10 hours later, i give up. Returning this phone, and porting my number elsewhere, as they can't even seem to restore my account on my old phone either. Fucking overseas fucktards.

You get what you pay for....

The phone was cool, loved it. data/text worked, but the phone never did. The service reception was lower than the wildfire. by a bar most the time.

I'm pretty fucking pissed off about this whole ordeal. I should have just kept my wildfire and been happy, but no, i had to have the latest and greatest, and it fucked me in the ass.

I shopped att and verizon, and i'm still not interested in them. ridiculous prices.

I'm 50/50 on just giving up owning a cell phone all together right now. 90% of the time, i use it for facebook or words with friends any way. i rarely make calls. my commute is not through any rural areas (meaning, i can walk 100 yards to the nearest shop if i need to/break down/etc), and i'm not required to have a cell phone for work. I get dick for service at home on pretty much every provider anyway, and i have a vonage line for the house already.

bah........ sleeping on it.
so fucking pissed off right now.

I've been seein bad reviews on that phone in its Virgin iteration and its original Sprint version.

That sucks to hear about the customer service tho.

B what if you meet a girl and she wants to give her number to you? Are you going to pull out a piece of paper and a pen?
