Alignment (was: quick question)

I have a 91 ef9 with inner camber wear, so i went and purchased a skunk 2 camber kit 2 months ago...I purchased new tires after installing the camber kit and I still have inner camber wear...what can it be???

toe causes more tire wear than camber does.

hit up an alignment rack.

toe is like your feet IN or out
looking top-down,

\ / is toe out
/\ is toe in

| is a straight tire


bring it to an alignmnet rack asap. that should be cosndered a requirement when installing a camber kit.

preferraly bring it to a speed shop who knows what a camber kit is (ie, not midas/etc) so that they may be able to adjust that properly as well.

I suggest you pay the extra ~$40-50 bucks and get the "Lifetime" alignment. You have adjustable camber now and well......probably be worth the investment.

It's an option at Firestone - pay once and you get free re-deux. Of course they won't give you monthly checks, but even one makes it worth the difference. I assume other chains have a similar offer. That's what I'm doing next time. Invariable every year or two I do some form of maintenance that required alignment to make it right and get some life out of a set of tires.

^ That's what I'm thinking, haven't gone that way yet, but need an alignment when I put the engine back in mine. New wheels and tires and it was wearing from slight Toe Out. So, if they still have the option...

that firestone deal is a steal dude... get it... ntb offers5 years for like 300 bucks... but ya cant beat firestone's deal... just be warned... they will try every trick in the book to either send you away, or get you to repair something, or try and say camber isnt a factory adjustable option and will try to give you the runaround... you've been warned... just threaten to call corporate, thats what most poeple end up doing, and they get their way...

Good information to be armed with before signing on the bottom line. Read the fine print and be ready for the ole Flim Flam job. Armed with this, I'm going to do it when I get mine put back together and take it in for alignment. There is a Firestone shop pretty close to my house. They did the last alignment and did a good job.- but, I expect some resistance with the Lifetime after the initial alignment.
