Thanks, guys.

It's fun to drive. And my friends (who all got to roll around in my old B swaps) are blown away when I take them for a ride. Under normal driving, I'm CONSTANTLY shifting. 4.7FD don't mess around.

Some mid-90's GT with bolt ons might run me (in the unforseen future lol). He says it hits 12's but my buddy says he talks a gang of $hit. If he does hit 12's....I'm toast unless I gut it and throw slicks on....might need K-pro to even see 12's :shrug2: Although, he's a young kid and may get all "prom night" when we take off and it's a rap.

It will get recorded if it happens!

Whatever the outcome, do post up some video if you can. I accepted an invitation for a friendly side by side Friday night. A Dodge RAM Hemi, took him on rolling at ~40 mph, he was ahead of me, by 25' or so, I pulled it down to 2nd, caught him in 3rd and edged past, then shut it down. Had death rattles, I think it seized a rod or main bearing - at least I won! ;)

Kept the old engine, it's already on the engine stand for teardown. Hopefully the issue(s) with the DOHC ZC are all in the bottom end. Taking the old short block to machine shop for a full rebuild. If it goes as planned, just drop the head, tranny, peripherals on it and keep on truckin.

New valve cover. I wanted the "HONDA" valve cover and found one for sale (saw the picture) but the seller jacked me and sent a "Honda Motor Co., ltd." and was a jerk about it when I wanted to send it back.

This was around a year ago.....so I just decided to grind the lettering off and have it done in Wrinkle Black. I'm happy with the results. I didn't like the Type R valve cover in my engine bay.

Thanks. I enjoy looking at the motor too. Now that the valve cover is black.....you can see all the blue sensors and IM gasket a lot easier.

I want the stock K20Z3 intake manifold cover (plastic cover that says 2.0 iVTEC) it'll be a little more sleeper to muscle car boys (hide fuel rail)

All the used ones I find are beat up and new is just too much.

Got me an IM cover.....for free (just paid shipping) he gave me some hardware but not sure if it'll work. I'll try to throw it on this weekend and I'll post a picture if it goes on. If not, I'm ordering some hardware.

Here it is...cheap little change that I could afford lol It covers the fuel rail and looks more subtle.

The sneakiness of the IM cover is prevalent.

Also....ignore the fact that the motor looks effing huge in the engine bay.

That cover doesn't do anything for me in the "Docile" or "Sleeper" realm. Takes it more towards a refined or finished install - more of a high end Lexus or Acura look IMO.

Looks real nice, tame well not really. As you alluded to, that's a big motor shoe horned in thar.

Before the race

"Stock K20 bro?? Lets run em!"

After race

"you sprayed on me yo!"

Domestic boys won't know much....2.0 I-VTAK swap with breathing bolt on's (which.....it is only that)

I figure the fuel rail could make guys think I got something crazy that needs bigger injectors. Explaining that it's a return-less fuel set up motor in a return fuel chassis....sounds like a load of crap......but true. Now it's covered.

I agree that it gives it a more finished look. Cost me $13 in shipping  Over $80 new (hardware and such) +shipping

Once it's cam'd w/injectors/70mmTB/.......and KPRO'd. It'll be a little more sneaky

Have you looked into running RDX injectors? They have a much better spray pattern so the fuel atomizes better. I've read they give a small increase in power and they are relatively cheap. ($180 a set)

I'm thinking I'll run those injectors with the correct clips and get the 70mm TB when I K-Pro and tune. For now....the car is sitting on the back burner.

Ran the car at the drag strip last night. It was about 90-91 degrees in the runs I'm posting.

I took it to a big rig scale to check the weight (full interior...yada yada)

2580lbs with me in it. I'm 205-210lbs and the scale is in increments of 20lbs. 2/3-3/4 tank of gas.

Cheap street tires 205's and my first time trying to run it at the track. This thing isn't that easy to launch. I got to launch at 2500rpms and not even go to full throttle until 2nd gear and still feel stupid with the wheel spin.

Consistent 2.3 60ft times
Had three 2.2 60ft times and that ain't too much to brag about.

I ran it about 8 times. Hit consistent 13.9's

I cannot spend money on it right now. So things to help (K-Pro, Drag Radials, etc.) won't happen for a while.

Here's is my 13.8 runs. These are both heads up.

Bad Driver VW GTI

EG Hatch K20A Virgin ECU #1 - YouTube

AWD Evo with intake exhaust and ?? Maybe a bad driver too? He yanked me off the line and I reeled him in to win by a few hundredths! Super close run......inch or a mile lol.

EG Hatch K20A Virgin ECU #2 - YouTube

And.....I got first place in my lane (32+ cars Bracket racing starts after 2hrs of heads up practice)
13.78 was my dial in time. The guy I beat (22lb boosted B-VTEC CRX 11.6). He hit a 11.618!! But I slaughtered him with reaction (mine was .118) so I won :shrug2:

Got a stein and license plate frame. Not bad of a night for $15 entry fee.

You're more biased towards the top end- you'll probably beat the Evo in a longer race. And ride that rev limiter through the finish. :)

Ya....I started reeling him in really hard once I was in 3rd. Its like the Evo fell on its face.

I don't wanna bounce the limiter. Ive read it's bad on the valve train. Especially the timing chain stretching and the tensioner. But...tons of videos of K's and 3-4 rev limiter bounces. I'm just a little cautious.

But....if I didnt need to shift to 5th.....might take a tenth or two off my time. Wish I could get a larger tire under my fenders.

I figure drag radials will increase my 60ft.....and I have experienced lower 60ft times have slower trap speeds but not sure if it's applicable here. Traps were 99-101mph
