Um, I don't think so. Even if it were possible, and you went to hella expense to make it work, your compression would still be low. Not feasible, it would be cheaper and easier to install an H22 complete.
 
thank you.....i was thinkin about askin the same question and now relaize that i should jus stop being lazy and drop the entire motor in....wat about my stock 5 speed tranny of the f22b1? should i stick with that or just get a 5 spd off an h22a?

its very possible. there are several write ups on this. here is one of them. it is feasible. it wouldnt cost 2000 to have done. if you were going for boost then its not a bad option. however because you compression will be so low its not going to make for a good n/a motor with out the proper equipment.

What you can do to increase compression is deck the block, or bore out the cylinders to the service limit and go with oversized OEM pistons. Either way, it'll be a nice motor to throw some boost ontop of.

But then again, ~8:1 CR isn't all that bad considering my 90 AWD DSM has 7.8:1 CR. :D

I'll be attempting this hybrid since I snapped a crank in my a4. If the block isn't salvageable, I have a spare F22 to tear down for parts. ^_^
 
they only problem with decking the block is that you are taking material away that you can never get back. id rather see pistons in there.
 
I have an f22 block with an H23a1 head non-vtec, and it isn't much trouble at all. Lot of torque and low end power. I'm having the head rebuilt right now though so i can get higher RPM's.
