my phone (htc sensation 4g- tmobile) has the official android 4.0 release available now.

trying to find some actual reviews of anybody who has already upgraded.

everything i find online are just reviews or custom roms.

and, with upgrades being comparable to unprotected sex with a stranger (could turn out awesome and you never have any regrets, or could go horribly wrong and leave you stuck with something you dont want) i dont want to upgrade, and hate it, and not be able to go back to the original gingerbread.

I like it. Just upgraded to it on my EVO 3D. It was weird at first but it has some useful features and bug fixes. Also does some weird shit from time to time but I expect it.

I upgraded on my EVO 3D as well, and I don't have any complaints as of yet. Took me a couple days to get used to some of the changes, but I haven't had any issues.

I have a RAZR and recently updated.. i like it other than embedded videos making my browser crash

did the look of the screens change a lot? if its not a drastic change in look I may update, but I really like the current layout. like how the phone and menu buttons are at the bottom, not the location, but the look.

and I have read that those minor glitches of crashing and whatnot can be fixed with a factory data reset.

Not drastically. Now that I'm fully sober I'll delve a little deeper.

The quick links you get when turning on the phone are now chooseable and always at the bottom of the screen (giving you more open slots technically.)

You can now remove panels you dont use and set your home tab. Im down to 4 from 6the previous 6. Probably frees up some memory. I think you can add more too but not sure.

Internet can now have 6 windows up from 4

They changed the "settings" section a lot. More easily accessible to the shit you'd actually want to access.

Script is different but I think I saw a place you can change it.

I noticed a lot of Youtube and other videos actually load all the way through in the actual browser even when your connection drops out for a second (fucking Sprint!)

If you hold the home button your recent apps pop up and you can close out of them by swiping them away.

One negative is that the mobile versions of sites are almost always the default. You can select to view the actual site but so far it seems you have to do that every time. Especially with facebook.

A lot more minor stuff. Looked weird for a minute but all in all I like the upgrade.

All my friends say they enjoyed the upgrade. However, I've been rooted for awhile now and don't get OS upgrades.

The OEMs can do whatever they want with the OS, it's OSS.

I think it should be noted that it was only designed for tablets from the get go.

Probably a bad time to say it, but, I've noticed that when I'm using 4G my internet tends to close and/or reset a lot. Googled it and saw reports of WiFi doing the same to some people. It's pretty aggravating. 3G is too slow to be useful on many high data sites, and 4G fucks up... Don't know if it affects all phones/carriers.

seems i have no luck with this phone and my usb car stereo.

i was having issues with it (made a different thread earlier)
but, when i went to cali for a week, the car sat untouched. got back, and it hasnt had an issue since.

now, after this update, the damn thing sucks again.
when first plugging it in, the phone doesnt recognize that its plugged in, stereo gives me "N/A USB" plug an unplug a few times and it works.

then, while playing, it will randomly go silent for a second, then continue. will play at least one song all the way through, then start the next, and after about 20 to 40 seconds, wil just jump to a random song. annoying.

im going to try a factory reset and see what that does for me.

edit: even when plugging into the computer via usb, same issue.

That's weird. I've had no plug issues. I use a portable speaker for netflix at work and that's always fine. Same for my computer USB connections. On the old software I had issues with long movies I'd put on here (mostly magpul training videos) having their audio cut out every few minutes. If I'd use the seek option it'd work again but damn was it frustrating.

the headphone jack works fine.
only usb issues. just dont get it. cant really find anybody else having the problem either.
