so here's a 14 minute trailer on the youtubes
apparently this is the movie that has outraged the islamic world enough to kill 4 americans in libya including the ambassador and a diplomat and 2 others
as well as leading to riots in egypt
or it could just be the celebrating of 9/11, just throwing that out there
i'm not really sure why we don't protect our people overseas acting in an official capacity, i'll throw in a vote for making some new glass and calling this whole social experiment they call freedom and democracy in the middle east a wrap

the movie was created by an israeli american living in california, who identifies himself as an israeli jew

i dont understand why we even bother supporting any other country but our own. with all that money going out... man.
 
100 years ago, shit like this sparked world wars. it does seem a little too passive of the US to just let this slide.

I see this as the last straw. Pull all foreign aid to these countries. Pull our people out. Pull all visas and send all their people home. Don't allow any direct flights to or from these countries to ours. Cuba 2.0. You can't play nice? We're taking our ball and going home. Now you have nothing. Enjoy your sandals and AKs.

And while were at it, topple OPEC and get my gas back down around 2 bucks again.
 
I'd agree with you but unfortunately there are LARGE groups of people in those countries that are pro US and as a friend of a few people on visa's, I'd hate to see them sent out because of their crap country.

Maybe we can grandfather in the ones that are here.

But do you think these groups would still be pro-US if we stopped sending aid? You love any poor sucker that's giving you free cash. Frankly, I'd rather take more care of the poor in this country then take care of an illiterate moron, who believes in a book(that he cant even read) so whole heartedly, that he will kill someone over a YouTube video.
 
I applaud their lack of tolerance. Tolerance gets you walked on. If a Muslim wants to kill the guy who made that movie, I say go for it. We need more people out there killing the makers of shitty movies.
 
Keep in mind:

These people are extremely isolated. They typically deal with their problems the same way Athletic Frat Boys do: Fists. In most of northern Africa, if you have a problem with someone, you call them out, and they work out a solution (fists or hammer or knife, etc.)

These people have no concept of "tomorrow" because there's really no future tense in Arabic. A language which most of these people rioting can't read or write. Their news source is word-of-mouth.

Their news comes from their Imam, who may or may not tell them that all of their pain and suffering comes from the evil powers of Democracy, which is rooted in America. The vast majority doesn't have internet, and the television they get is filtered. They know what their Imam wants them to know which could be extreme or not.

Obama screwed up royally by stating that he wasn't sure whether or not Egypt is an ally.

The militaries of these countries typically rules with an iron fist. When things get bad, it's the military that takes care of things, and they're actually trying to protect our embassies right now. Furthermore, no head of state is calling for America to apologize, no ambassadors have been formally asked to leave.



That said, we need to stop paying countries to not attack each other. We need to stop all FMS to countries currently in conflict. We need to stop being so fucking stupid on the internets.

Then we need to grow gills and all live in underwater communities where brown, black, blue, and white get along no matter their color.

It's very easy to have a great idea. Implementing them is extremely difficult.

You know whats funny the obvious lack of tolerance? I got hot linked to a pro Islam web site not too long ago, and at the top of the page was a box that displayed one word at a time in big bold letters, that (I guess) described the religion. One of those words was tolerance.

I literally lawl'd and clicked the back button.

Our people have been over seas for long time. Way too long. And, when you look at the big picture, nothing has been accomplished. Time to cut our losses and GTFO.
 
I haven't researched this at all yet but I've heard that the video is actually months or years old, so the fact that they're pinning the riots on the video is bogus - it was just a 9/11 attack. True or false?
 
It's just dumb.

It's a buch of people who don't understand how the world works anymore. They still operate their society in the 1300s.

I agree, and after watching that video who could actually take that zero-budget film seriously? It's like a terribly produced SNL skit.
 
They managed to kill our people without bringing war down on their heads, yet. I'd say they played it well. It has less to do with that stupid movie and more to do with their hatred of the Jews that run our country.
 
I'd just love to know what the plan is with this. You vote for obama you get someone apologetic woe is me douche bag that plans to ignore the people that actually like us (talking about israel here). You vote for romney who says he wants to keep the american military the strongest fighting force on the planet.

You talk about increasing our military presence, but not what you're going to do? Fucking man up, and talk like a leader not like a fucking politician. I'm cool with either a complete embargo on nations that support muslim extremest (as alluded to earlier), or WW3 style resolution.

You build a training camp? yeah we leveled it? You moved your training camp into a cave? we blew up all the entrances and exits. I'm not naive enough to think we should bomb the entire population out of existence, but why do we put all this time into building guidance systems that can hit 1 vehicle in a motorcade, and then just do nothing but kill the leaders?

These aren't military geniuses we're killing with these surgical strikes, they're people that can yell really loud that say the things the extremest want them to say.
