im a litle confused.

i thought you couldnt import/register unless it was like 25 years old.

if its original, how was it properly registered? (it obviously was, since its tagged)
unless this is a Mirage that was converted with EVO parts and RHD conversion.

I'm pretty sure this is the real deal. You can import cars for racing... But this needs to be Vin swapped.... NOW!!

I don't see $35k. IDK.

Turbo, how much, roughly, would it run to convert a normal Mirage? Basically, what does this one have that yours didn't? I'm Mitsu-retarded, but I honestly thought this was yours.

the average running cost of importing a clip, with engine and drivetrain, doors, rear pan, trunk, spoiler and ground effects is about 12K. the labor can go through the roof from there. if you are a decent welder and have an extra set of hands, you can probably have it running and driving in a long week. to make it emissions compliant you can run an evo8 ecu with the immobilizer disabled and a few sensors. (COMPLETE CONVERSION)

if you just grab the motor and use a mirage FWD trans or a welded AWD trans, you're looking at about 5K tops to put it in a car. fiberglass is obviously cheaper than oem panels and you can get the fiberglass in the states which drastically cuts down on shipping costs, customs, and drayage. not to mention we have had members that have not received shit from some importers due to customs issues...

eric is looking for one. but not for 35K !!

20K max on a genuine UNMODIFIED evo5/6/tme chassis. and it better be in stellar condition. folks in canada are getting evo 1/2 for about 3-5K . it wont be long :)

If its the real deal, and notice the super low mileage (kilometerage?) too, it's priced perhaps a bit high, but not super outrageous. Good starting number IMO. start at 35, wheel and deal down to 28 ish

he could get 35K if it was all original. but this has been infused with USDM parts that you can get anywhere. that drops the value DRAMATICALLY.

If you're a Mitsu guy and all you want to drive are Mitsus, fine. But for me, I can get a whole lot more car for $35k. Hell, for $20k.

5G chassis evos in the US are rarer than skylines. this version comes with power everything, to boot. TME GSR.... most coveted model ever.

i'd like to see you personally get something better for 20K. you cant bullshit this, here  they dont make anything even now that could outperform this on the street, track, or in the dirt for this money.

Am I the only one who's not into the TME front bumper and spoiler?

-maybe I'm just biased

Better in my mind I guess. But I think it applies to a lot of car guys. Example- Is a true Shelby Cobra worth more than a really nice replica? For my money, no. I plan to drive it. In the same breath, is a numbers matching classic more valuable than a clone? Not to me. A car is the sum of its parts, not numbers stamped on those parts. No matter the brand.

I'm not saying it's not a nice car, it definitely is. But for my $20k-$35k, I'd prefer something else.

Besides, cars don't belong in the dirt. That's what my Jeep is for.

a replica cobra is a replica. its pretty much the same thing built with off the shelf parts or out of a magazine. a matching numbers car will always be worth more but i completely agree with you on value vs driveability.

there are things missing in converted mirages - frame gussets. the stitch welds vs pinch welds.

for the money i'd also grab something else. but for the right price i'd drive it for sure!

For the right price I'd drive a lot of things.

And I totally "understand" why the real deal is worth more to the average consumer/collector. I was just stating that the value of a vehicle doesn't translate to the fun of it for me. If 2 cars perform the same, but one is $35k and the other is $100k, I'm saving myself $65k.

and i'm with you... but in the sense of mirage vs evo if you can get a real factory one then it is worth it.

I see your point. You pointed out some areas that are actually different. It isn't just number stamps at that point. It's actual construction.
