id like to get in better shape, but at this point in time i dont have the will-power to do so.
you can start with little things... instead of soda grab a glass of water. instead of elevators or escalators use stairs. little changes. its making BIG changes, that keep folks from following through.
not everyone has time to do those things. my biggest problem with going to the gym to work out was going there at 7pm and not settling down after a long day until after 830-9pm. then having to go to sleep shortly after so i can get up at 6am to start my day again.
i went to the gym for 3 months and did not notice many changes on the outside, but inside i felt much better which alone made it worth it enough for me. i was also able to lose 15 lbs. we're again working on moving so i did not renew my membership and instead used that money to get ahead on my bills that would be coming up within the next 2 months. i will rejoin a gym after we move.
so even if you dont see results, the little things can help you feel better everyday.
ehhh i disagree. those little changes will reflect very little results. when people don't see results fast enough, that's when they give up.
There is really only 1 way to get in shape and it all involves hard work and sacrifices. Eating right 5-6 times a time to increase your metabolism and working out with weights. Cardio is good to keep your heart healthy and to burn calories while you are working out but that's about it. Weight lifting and high metabolism is the only way you are going to get in shape. You'll continue to burn calories after you are done weight lifting and with a high metabolism you'll burn even more.
My buddies never do cardio and they are ripped out of their minds and eat for 2 people througout the day and do tough mudders, iron mans marathons etc. They can eat a whole pizza and loose weight the next day. it's insane
you definately do not need to go to the gym to lift weights. There are tons of exercises with dumbbells and a house chair you can be doing in 45 minutes 4 days a day. Most everyone has 45 minutes to work out. if you say you don't then you really just don't want to do it.
I couldn't disagree more with you. There are more ways than one to get into shape. There isn't a magic formula to follow but a range of activities and lifestyles that will warrant results.
