Well its been awhile since I have been on hondaswap. I have been pretty busy in our local Honda scene running my own forum (a state specific Honda/Acura site) trying to build a community out of the local enthusiasts. Its a hard, long road, but our first year is almost behind us and we have built up a small, but decent member base. I myself have gone through a few cars since my last visit and I am currently driving a 95 GSR sedan. More on that plan later. Anyways, I just wanted to share with you the scene here in Idaho and show off some of our local rides. We are small, there is a large automotive site that most people in our area go to, we branched off to be more Honda friendly...but we are growing.

Its cool you are trying to bring together the honda community, seems to not happen much anymore these days... I miss the old days when I lived in the Atlanta area in the late 90s early 00s, the import car scene was great.
 
Its been a task and a half so far. Like I said, there is a local all automotive mega forum full of trolls and ass hats that rules the scene, but my forum as been able to do fairly well do to the fact that we have been able get a lot of the true Honda specific enthusiasts to be part of our site. We try to do 1 or 2 meets a month with picture sessions, everyone loves pictures. I also pay out of pocket for stickers to promote the forum, I give them out free to anyone one who wants one, and you all know import drivers love stickers almost as much as pics. I stopped doing colored ones because white shows up much better than the other colors I had tried, if I am giving them out free then I want to make sure they get seen, lol.

Some pics of the 2nd annual Import Revolution 208, which was our first time sponsering, they had about 170 entries. This year is going to be even bigger and I am working on trying to get to present our own trophy for the most unique Honda or something of the same nature.

We had our 1 year anniversary meet today to celebrate the forum being up and running. Its cold here where I live so we ate pizza and socialized. For the shitty conditions we had a better turn out than I expected. After I had taken these pics we had another group of member show up but my battery was dead.

nice to see that you guys still get together whether there is snow out or not... over here it seems like everyone goes into hibernation till the summer... or it could be that i just dont have time with two kids a job and the wife...
 
We have some good members who like to hang. On a more serious note, that parking lot ate some cars that day...took some leg work to get them out. LOL!

second: there are a lot more people in idaho than i ever gave thought to. learned something today.

third: idaho seems pretty by looking at the backgrounds of some of the pictures. might need to visit there someday.

fourth: good work. seems like you are keeping your local scene alive. hondas are dead here unless you are broke, or like shitty half assed modified cars.
whats the in person douchebaggery level of your members vs the online douchebaggery level?

the local all in one forum here sucks for the same reason you stated on yours, asshats and douchebags make up the majority. i only visit when needing to buy or sell.

also, im surprised that the rear quarters of all of those cars look reasonably healthy.
 
First: Ya...shes a looker, I always snap some pics when her bf brings her to the meets. I will get one of her in her forum shirt. Looks good.

Second: Not as many as you think.

Third: Its hit and miss...if you stay out of the flats its all pretty nice.

Fourth: We are trying and doing ok thus far and trying to keep Hondas on the up and up, so far so good. As far as douche levels...in person we have next to none, on the forum its very low for now. Sometimes we get an internet tough guy who joins, they either check themselves or leave because we are pretty good about weeding out trolls without using the ban hammer. But that being said...we are only about 190 members just passing our 1 year mark, which is a decent number for the area but we have the potential to grow so we will see how that works when we get bigger. Finally, Idaho does not use salt and other super nasty chems for the roads so we manage to stay fairly rust free over here.
 
So our forum just had its 2nd annual spring potluck and it was a blast. It was much bigger than I expect, at one point I counted 39 cars in the parking lot. I ran out of burgers and dogs twice, lol. Afterwards about half of us took a little country cruise and ended the shoot with some pictures. We had a little thing going this year with everyone doing last minute suprise mods so I came up with a "feature" idea and we are currently voting on 6 different cars to be our Honda208 Spring King/Queen 2013. I will post those up in 6 days once the poll expires. Check it out, we are trying to keep it alive in Idaho. I had a smudge on my camera...smooth.

To go along with our Spring Meet this year we did a little something special for the forum members. I picked 6 car that met certain requirements (post count, build thread, etc) and set up a poll for them to be voted on and the winner got the special title of Honda208 Spring King 2013 and a feature thread on our forum. We might do this for our Fall drive as well, here is this years Spring winner.

Towards the end of last year this car was nothing more than a neglected 89 CRX until Cam got his hands on it and saved it. With a ton of hard work and dedication this car has been turned into what you see now. Fresh paint, interior conversion, motor swap, and so much more. This build is dedicated, in memory of my Dad, who passed away after battling cancer for four years. He left us on April 18th 2012, four months later in August I picked up my '89 Honda Crx project to keep my mind busy and help me through everything.

It's been a long journey to get this car where it is today (7-8 months to be exact), and has been both fun and painful, lol. I'm still constantly upgrading and changing the car, so it's still an on-going build. I will update as I go along in my build thread. Thanks for looking!!

is it just me or is there something wrong with the fender/hood and fender/door fitment?
