91 civic dx hatch.
when i reverse its fine, one i try to go into 1st car acts as if its in neutral. when i try to go back to reverse still acts like neutral.

Sounds like yer trans is busted dude... But just to be sure, you need to jack the car up, (safely support it) and move the shift rod in and out of gear. If you can feel the gears going in and still no power is being transferred to the wheels, you might have a busted transmission.

well i left it in the drive way asked my dad to check it out while i was at work. he called me n told me i was crazy. he said it was shift like normal and drove it everywhere. idk what up with this civic. i think it hates me...

Orange highlighted part

Is the orange part the shift linkage?
if so is there a bushing for it? oh and what/ where can i get it?

dude.. do yourself a favor. take yours out and check ALL the bushings for wear... chances are, the rubber O rings dry rotted and are causing slop in your shifter. the orange bar is the torque rod. it holds the shift linkage in place. the one below it with all the O rings, bushings and moving parts is what essentially makes up the major part of your shifter..you should be able to see what's worn by doing what i mentianed the other day. jack up the car, safely sustain it with jacks stands and move the shifter around.. if you put it in gear and can still move the shifter around, you have worn out parts...

did what u did. its a bushing on torque rod. honda shop couldnt order just the bushing they wanted me to buy a new rod. but i found the bushing online.

thanks for the help
