EG8 - J -Swap

New to honda swap.
looking for advice and input about doing a J-swap.

I've been reading up on the whole J series, seems to appealing.

so before i make a decisions im just looking for some pointers before going through with it.

what engines are preferred ?
and other important info i should know.

Preferred/easiest is typically the J35A4 (02-04 Pilot plus a few others) or similar earlier 2000s J blocks with cable actuated throttle bodies.

Important info:

Lots of people think the J32A2 heads from the CL-S/TL-S are the best flowing, but the J35 heads are the same.

Some heads have the merged exhaust manifold that's integrated into the head, so headers don't bolt up easily, but turbocharging is easier.

Newer J blocks (J37s, possibly some later J35s) have a different bolt pattern interfacing to the transmission, so be careful with your transmission selection.

When shopping for mounts, be mindful of axle angle and mount height in the engine bay. Ground clearance from the oil pan is a major issue, and some kits place the engine too far back or tilt it at a weird angle that's not good for your driveline.

Intake manifold swaps are good for easy power.

AEM has an EMS for the J.

just read up on the J35A4.
none of the orignal cars come in Manuel, off what car would i find a matching transmission??
( sorry if that is a stupid question. new to this concept.)

Also, been reading up on the J30A1, seems it would be easier to find a transmission for the motor. - any input on that??? but its alot smaller, would it be worth just waiting and getting the J35A4??

You'll want to hunt for the Accord V6 manuals (not manuel) or the 03-04 CL-S. I think there were a few more sources for the transmissions- look through spec sheets on Edmunds or MSN Autos or something to double-check. HMotors also sells complete changeovers with the transmission.

Even if you add the Hasport mounts and Axles, it's still cheaper than a K-series...
