well my dad and I have been looking for a rolling chassis for a while and today we bought a 71 nova. no motor/trans or interior. but we got a drop spindle kit and front disc conversion, extra glass, trunk lid, door, and 9" housing. it was an arizona car for its whole life until about 5 years ago when the guy we are getting it from brought it up and stuffed it in the back of his garage. more pics tomorrow when we pick it up and get it home.

Car got delivered earlier today...we ended up knocking a grand off the price because dude pulled up and said hey you should let me take home you're yota. I said 1500 and its yours. Settled on 1k and helped him load it up lol

and my dad wants to go the traditional route. mostly because thats what he has worked on his whole life. the prices between the 2 are more or less the same or pretty close anyway. what do you all think?

Split the difference. Carbed LSX with a T56.

what is the safest media for blasting? we want to do a few small areas including the window runners and im worried about distorting metal...

LOL the predicament you are in is the exact same one my dad and I are in. I want modern power in the 69 fastback and he wants something old school. Go figure

You can't go wrong either way, but you know what I would choose :p

Yea luckily we are going to do all the body and suspension work first so i have at least a year to talk him into the ls based platform

Soda blasting is the least abrasive I have come across. It'll eat rust but leave the remainder.

Also, if you need trim and stuff lmk. We may have it in our garage. Weve probably got enough parts to build 3 68-72s.

I love the ls motors and love the potential of them. I really want a 67-72 c10 rcsb and would love to use the ls based motor if it was being used for a driver, or if a weekend car keep it carb'd. One thing is in an old car is just having the sound and rumble of the old v8.
