I was reading that there are two different ECUs for the K20A engine: PRD and PRC. One is for a civic and the other for a RSX. Besides the cars, is there any difference between the two ECUs? Are they interchangeable?

Thanks,
R

Civic Type R (PRD)

RSX Type R (PRC)

Yes....interchangeable.

Work of mouth is the PRC has a more aggressive map. No first hand knowledge of the PRD but I ran a PRC for a while.

Also....some of them need a Imm Bypass unit for a swap. Mine did. Which means they might not work without the correct key in non swapped cars.

Also dumb question, if I am flashing the ECU with Hondata PRO, does it matter if it's a PRD or PRC?

Thanks again

Sorry. Immobilizer Bypass Unit.

In terms of Hondata K-Pro....they won't be any different. Both have reverse lockout (6-speed thing) and will accept K-Pro just fine. They are both JDM ECU's. Sadly....they will not have nitrous tuning abilities that USDM ECU's do. Not to say you are unable to run nitrous....but you won't be able to tune it nearly as well as a USDM ECU (in terms of Nitrous ONLY).
