my truck is in need of some front suspension work and was wondering if you all had and recomendations for parts? i want to spend $100 or less for the fronts and will buy the matching rear shock abviously.

no need for the Bilsteins if you have no lift IMO.. i would go w/ the KYB Monomax since you do go off-road often.. $60/ corner

i only got the Gas-a-just for my 4Runner since its only 2wd and stays on pavement for the most part.. if i had 4wd i would have gone with the firmer shock/strut

i was looking at bilsteins becasue they come with them from the factory. granted not the 5100's though. i would say that my truck see 60/40 on/off road and when im offroad most of the time its 50+ mph and shitty roads getting from place to place so i want something that is going to treat me good in those situations. i will be researching the KYB's fo sho

Monroes last about 3k longer than other shocks on my truck. I blow through them every 8k miles. They are ok, I would avoid for your use.
I haven't tried Bilsteins on my truck yet but my zr2 had them and they were great.

Haven't read any of the shit anyone else posted here, because I don't really care what everyone else's opinion is.

As far as 'daily driver' shocks/struts that last quite a while, ride comfortably, and are affordable, the best shit on the market is a Chinese brand called SenSen. These have a lifetime warranty, which they actually DO honor, and perform quite well for a daily driver. They're on par (and, as far as I can tell, practically the same fuckin' thing) as KYB GR2's.

I've installed dozens of these on customers' cars, and two of my employees have them on their personal vehicles as well. I've also put these on 2 or 3 of my personal vehicles over the last few years.

I usually order from AP Auto Parts, but this company has them on eBay currently.

I've installed these exact struts/shocks on at LEAST three Tacomas and/or 4runners (one Taco and two 4runners, and countless other makes and models), and one of the 4runners was a hydraulic suspension conversion. Each of those vehicles has at least 20-30k since our install, the customers still bring their vehicles to me for maintenance and other repairs, and not one single one of them has had any complaints about the suspension. Same goes for all the other non-Toyota customers that I've installed these on.

Like I said, I don't give a shit what a handful of internet mechanics think about a product they've never used personally. There's absolutely no reason to pay out the ass for KYB's on something you use to drive to work and don't ever plan on racing. My personal (and professional) experience has been that SenSen is the bee's knees.

edit: crabby tone because I'm having a shitty day. Any disrespect to anyone isn't intentional.
