I have a 96 Integra pulling motor. My question is does it come out the top or bottom.

Pretty much you can take your pick. Personally, I have only pulled a b series out the top, using a cherry picker.

Easiest would be on a lift... support from underneath, unbolt/unplug everything, lift car, move motor out of the way

Lift is the answer. unbolt upper control arms and drop everything when you lift the car.

But in the garage or driveway.....out the top. It's a bitch to bottom drop without a lift. I've done it and it was a scary joke.

Majority of us do it that way... he asked for the easiest way though...lol

^ ROFL That's awesome! I stand corrected, plasma cutter isn't the easiest method. This is clearly the easiest and quickest way!!! :)

you're all wrong.

easiest way is out the bottom... with a cherry picker. (with our without lift)

attach engine to hoist and lift enough for tension on chains. attach it level (after removing axles and disconnecting harness/hoses)
release mounts
put a small tire, or little engine dolly underneath and lower engine onto it.
release engine from hoist

if no lift is available:
attach chain of hoist to the driver and passenger side mount with the mount bolt
lift front end of the car enough to slide the engine out.

if lift is available. just lift the car.

I did this back in '98 when I removed my Z6. Lifting the car high enough to get the motor to slide out is what scared the hell out of me. I used wood blocks....sketchy. We had a heavy duty jack and it maxed out well before the car was high enough.

lol. thats why you use the engine hoist to pick the front end up.

get the chain just the right length between the mount points and jack it up, i never put anything under the car, bc i put it up, pull out the block (usually have a chain or rope attached to pull the engine out so nobody has to go under the car while its up) and then drop the car right back down. the front end of a honda with no engine or tranny weighs nothing. hell, if you had two friends over, put one on each side and they could easily pick it up high enough to pull the engine out.

Car needs to be raised up to disconnect linkage, drain fluids, etc. Then set it back down to raise front end? I'm with CAFROG and set car up on stands, yank engine with CP and it's done.

i jack up the front, put on jack stands, and disconnect everything.
engine hoist only comes into play when the only things connecting drive train to car is left and right mounts.
lift with hoist, set back on stands.

I get what you're saying now. Makes sense. But my old man back wouldn't like tugging the set up from underneath. I hate my back.

I had a heavier friend of mine put his weight on the back bumper and that was able to lift the front enough to get the engine out.
