Anyone here sign up? Just from reading people's posts on the net it seems like a total nightmare. People lost jobs, premiums went up 30-70% of what they were previously paying, jobs were cut to part time. This is just stuff i was reading from posts...who knows how legit it is....seems like a chaos has broken lose though...

Anyone here affected? Lost job, lost hours? high premiums? Company cut out health benefits?

This has literally 0 effect on my life thus far. I work in a small 5 person family owned business though. I'd rather just pay the fine/penalty/tax (whatever they want to call it) when I do my taxes every spring than sign up and spend more of my paycheck on a week to week basis. What would really piss me off is how big that penalty is on my refund. I don't get much of anything back as it is.

why don't you just claim more dependents and get more money in your check every period and get less refund at the end of the year......that refund is just your money you are loaning the government

Because of other reasons, that will be over after this tax season, that I don't want to publicly share.

ive been trying to see my "what if" options on the MD based obamacare website.

1. the website sucks donkey dick. looking for answers just takes you to a FAQ
2. getting real answers requires a login. i cant for the life of me find ANYWHERE to register.

trainwreck.

ok, i think i stumbled on the account creation page by clicking "Forgot Username/Password"

LOL

and they want my name/address/SSN/firstborn child/etc. fuck them.

I went through the Gov. Healthcare website https://www.healthcare.gov/ and filled out the basic info to see what it would cost me if my Employer stopped offering health care benefits....

Right now i pay $42 a month for medical/dental/vision with a $750 deductable which is our second best plan

Under Obamacare i would be paying $246/m with a $6300 deductable which is their lowest plan.

Interesting.....

That sounds like the plan I have at my job for covering my family.

Thank god I finally got a job and benefits. However, I'm probably still making a major move within the next year.

our private job insurance is also usually co-paid for by the job.
usually 40-100% depending on where you work.
sometimes less.
50 is about average.
some places only cover the employee, and spouses etc pay full shares.

my insurance kinda fucks the small fmaily (hus/wife).
there's a single for $X and a family plan for 3*X. so, 2, 3, or 99 all pay the same price.
that's nice if you have a kid, but if you don't, you basically pay the 2nd half of the spouse in full.

still, it's a shit ton better than anything on this obamacare platform of fail.

Agreed, mine only starts to pay off that I have 2 kids now. With 1 kid its better to just pay out of pocket barring any major surgeries or anything..

Also trying to get a quote for chits and giggles.

website wont let me signup, still acting up. Maryland has its own site so the normal site doesn't give any info.

Who else has received quotes?

I will look into in a few weeks.

My fiance got laid off a few months ago, cobra is $700 per month. If she doesn't find a job soon hopefully this will be cheaper.

What sucks is a lot of employers are cutting part time hours to be under 30 per week on a rolling average so no health insurance. So some part time people can't work as much, meaning less money going back into the economy. This rule has been pushed back for a year but still some employers are still keeping under 30 for part time. Seeing my fiance looking for jobs, there are a lot of jobs that used to be full time that are now part time.

I heard a blurb on the news where BHO said that with obamacare the average person should only have to spend about 100 a month on health care. I can't believe he got elected not only once, but twice.

Cheapest plan, free after 10k deductible is 55 bucks in texas. Something more in line with office visit co-pays is $145 a month for just me and $35 office visits.
