I'll be getting some drag radials soon. Car won't hold WOT in second gear on street tires anymore. Guess that's a good thing. I really wanna race something.....preferably a Mustang.
Happened to be on a prepper site. Result of a Google search. But for fuel purposes, ANYTHING with some form of sugar can be used. Rotten food, etc. Won't taste good at all, but we're talking about fuel purposes right.....
Went and raced on Sunday. I bought some Mickey Thompson Drag Radials but they didn't show up in time.
My tuner let me borrow some M&H 23" slicks but they didn't clear the fenders. (no adj coilovers). Tried some old school rubber spacers to lift it up....not enough clearance still. I could see it all happening already.... LSD, 90+mph, slick pops from rubbing, CAFROG's EGg jumps to one side and catastrophe. Too scary, so I took everything off and put the POS tires Back on. Sadly, that was an hour of practice runs I missed.
So I ran my POS Negotiator Tires.
2.24 60ft. 13.52 @almost 104mph. That's launching a 2500 and feathering the gas pedal until it finally decided to grab and go. Got into the top 16 and broke out.
Got my MT DR's yesterday. Can't wait to try them. I will run it again before winter break at our local strip.

I understood the original (barely)? Tire rubbed on fender and popped...
Mickey Thompson Drag Radials mounted now. 205/50/15's
Only launched it once. But these tires grab much better. It spun out a little and then decided to grab. Much more abrupt grab than those POS tires I had.
I figure it's low 13's on these. Would be sweet to hit 12.9. I am pretty sure it'll hit 12's with some weight loss.
Looking for a sunroof plug. Lighterfaster.com has some but they're on back order and carbon fiber $$$. I want fiberglass or aluminum.

Sweet. How much would a sunroof sized plug cost? Not sure if I want to keep mine in the CRX.
no idea i used them back in 01 when i built my carbon fiber leg brace after my bike accident
they were very helpful on the phone and talked through the whole idea and project with me for about an hour or so, made recommendations for the type of CF and resins to use, as well as recommendations for stuff they don't even sell for how to take the casting and make the mold of my leg to lay the CF out on
i bought the raw material (CF, resin, mold release, etc) from them and went to town
they have a WAY better selection of fabrics and resins than the average parts store or art supply places around me
they are located in Stockton CA
