My wife likes to run a lot. She has had a treadmill pretty much her entire adult life.....So after a couple days of research we came up with this

Epic A42T from Dicks $1594 out the door--free setup and delivery...

A42T | EPIC Fitness

This one had all the bells and whistles and an awesome warranty. It also has the highest HP motor at 4.2HP in this price range that i saw.

It had a great review on treadmilldoctor.com.The review would be much better since the price point is now $1500 compared to $2100 when it was reviewed, i'm assuming the score would have raised the Value category to at least an 8 or 9.

2013 Epic A42T Treadmill Review

I'll use it 2-4 times a week no more than 30 minutes after lifting. I'm not a huge cardio guy but this machine with the Google Maps and Ifit may keep my interest a bit.

We tested out a Proform and Sole but this one was the best feeling one and again had alot more bells and whistles while maintaining a great warranty

Someone missed the first sentence.

I have no idea about brands. I just use the precor ones at the local 24hours.

I like running on treadmills and watching cooking shows and movies. Great way to burn some cals. I usually do intervals though which are pretty unbearable for sprinting then slow jogging.

Woot has them pretty often at step discounts but not sure if any good.

Nothing beats the real deal. My wife also runs a lot, doubt I could ever get her to run still.

Yeah, believe me i had this conversation with her about it turning into a a clothes rack....I feel in teh end it will...they all do..

For me...i buy something good or don't buy it at all for the most part, within reason.

Precors are like $2100 + for just the basic treadmill..out of the price range The Freemotion 775 was the first one we wanted to buy but almost impossible to find locally and ordering online is a 6-10 weeks process.

Hopefully this thing holds up...

As far as Craigslist Treadmills....no thanks...who knows how abused those things are...

She is paying for this so it's really up to her and she wasn't interested in a CL treadmill

:shrug2:

So glad we stole the mother-in-law's for a while until it turned into a clothes rack for us, then brought it back to her... zero cost other than gas.

Put a TV in front of it. Makes it an almost enjoyable experience. 2 episodes of King of Queens or Family Guy and you've run 5-6 miles. That's what I did when I was running 25-30 miles a week.

This treadmill experience at Dicks turned out to be a nightmare....went to buy it last Thursday at $1500 +$70 for setup and deliver.....Was told to come on Sunday because they are dropping the $70 fee..specifically asked if the price of the treadmill would go up by then and was assured it wouldn't ...came back Sunday to buy it....the price was $1999...the same guy was there..ripped the guy a new asshole...got the manager involved...they said ok we will give you the $1500 price but not the free setup and delivery....id have to pay the $70...fine no big deal...

Wife goes to the counter to buy it...she was told by the guy that Epic and Dicks were ending their contracts together as of December 1st so they are not selling anymore Epic treadmills . The remaining ones will be sold on Black Friday at no more than $1000...so now my wife wants to go there Thanksgiving at 8pm and see if we can get it....

we will see what happens....otherwise we'll wait till after Xmas for better deals

We buy a lot of things because we bought a house this time last year and things are still needed/wanted...

Buy it now and go back after black Friday for a price match reciept? Most stores do that these days.

There's 213213 other places that sell treadmills. Give your biz to someone who doesn't suck (dicks)

Dicks jumped the gun and stopped selling bad looking guns because of the new town shooting.

Fuck dicks and I don't mean in a dickspeckle kind of way.

My wife bought a commercial class nordic track treadmill years back. Fucking thing was delivered in a 24' box truck and needed to be dismantled and assembled after it passed through the doors. I used it more than she did and it took up a good 4x4 spot in my beloved office. Needless to say I sold it when we converted the office to my son's room and was able to recoup $600 of the $2xxx cost. My suggestion to you is to take whatever you're going to spend on it and apply towards a gym membership. You'll eventually stop going there and you can cancel, usually w/o penalty and you won't have to be reminded how much of a bad idea it was to buy a treadmill for home.
