19k for an EX was just too good to pass up. Went in for a fit, left with a Civic. The ride and responsiveness were just night and day. I did do an automatic, my first ever auto trans.

It really took every ounce of my strength not to call you, cal. I was honestly thinking about another s2k, but then i thought about austin traffic.

Boooooooooo every car I have is stick, rush hour or not. Did the EF super heavy cable clutch through Manhattan downtown rush hour. No problem.

*shrug* to each their own i guess

I don't understand the 'auto is better in traffic' crap.

IMO, Holding the brake in an auto sucks more than clutching. I much prefer to not move unless I tell the car to. If you actually give yourself a couple feet, usually you can get a 1st gear roll at just before stall speed.

Anyway, congrats on the new digs.

Did you trade in the accord?

That's what I do. Leave it in first or second and just give myself some room. It's more annoying in the city as its truly stop and go moving forward and hilly. But meh. I've never had an auto.

Meh, I like having the gfs autotragic for us to commute in. Makes drinking coffee much easier, never really have to sit it down.

Might as well main line it. Pacific Northwesterner. You're one of us.

I am a lefty and I can balance a drink and shift at the same time. When I was driving 2-10 hours a day I liked having an automatic. Now with less driving I don't care for automatics. I reach for the non existent clutch in work vans, and I try to shift the fiance's auto Civic sometimes.

Yeah, i did the San Antonio -> Austin round trip this morning (a smidge over 200 miles) and I did reach for the clutch a few times and thought reverse was drive for a quick second. Other than that, I sat in a total of an hours worth of traffic and got home not feeling tired or angry which was pretty awesome.
