They're here: new BMW M3 and M4 - BBC Top Gear

Finally, a new model car that is lighter than the previous generation! and 32 mpg?! the old car got like 12/18 with the v8 in it. more power, lighter, and nearly twice the mpg. crazy.

I HATE that the basically killed the m3 off and called it the m4 and then made a new m3. :/

AND it comes with a fucking MAN PEDAL.

I can't wait to see how much they cost though. I'm thinking spec'ed lightly, it will touch 70s.

Maybe in 2018 or 19 they will be affordable

I pretty much like everything about it more than the old one. I wasnt really a fan of the old front end, nor this one, but it's an improvement.

I'd definitely bend some hottie over the hood and frisk her to ensure she sporting the proper thigh gap for today's ladies.

I have an ill perception of German cars but the design is definitely nice. I'd hit it.

Meh. The E46 was the last 'real' M car. Nowadays, a properly built turbo coupe > M3/M4.

It's become like the Mugen Civic Si...you're just paying for extra stickers and shiny shit.

New M cars look sick. I'll take a sedan in red. That said, I wish they had kept the NA V8. That character cannot be replaced. Who cares about mileage when you can drop $70k on a car?

My buddy has a '12 M3 4dr with a man pedal and all the other good options available.. he special ordered it and did the customer pick up in Germany, got to drive his M through the Swiss Alps and Italy before BMW shipped it back to Santa Barbara for him... the thing is a blast to drive...love the 4dr way more than the coupe

Very nice.

But you should be aware, they start well over 70.

"the M4 Coupe starts at £56,653"

£56,653 = $92,610.66

Due to the pre-sale taxes on cars in England, the price jump is not nearly that high. The previous generation of M3 also was listed at 50-55k gbp. I would expect to see them start at about 5k over what they are today. I'm going to say 65k, maybe 70 will be the starting price.

If you're worried about a few grand difference in price, then a new BMW is not for you.

yeah, GB price on cars is always way high. if you watch top gear, you'll notice that the price in pounds is often near the price in dollars for our similar model, yet a 35% markup in GBP to the dollar (~1:$1.35)

My buddy told me that he saved $2k overall buying it from Germany than from here and shipping it back.... that includes the 2 weeks he spent over there...

Yeah, the euro delivery is a cool program. If you have the time to go there, drive it, and then wait for it again, that's cool. It's not something someone looking to trade in a car can really do. plus, you can't 'finance' the trip there on the loan.

For the rest of us working slobs, it's not really feasible.
