Just left the suby dealership. Lookin at getting a 13 legacy with 7500 miles. 2.5 4cyl auto with the shitty paddle option. Had him talked down to 17k and giving me 2500 trade for my hatch. Deal or no deal?

Meh. I have a hard time justifying a new car. I test drove a brand new BRZ and the window switch was malfunctioning. Brand. New.

If I were in your shoes, I'd pass. Keep letting the Civic owe you nothing. Unless you've got little ones coming or something like that. Start "making payments" on the car you didn't buy. I'd also be willing to bet those were a rough 7500 miles. Are they backing the warranty as new?

yea i got a kid coming thats why the hatch is going by by. its not brand new just very slightly used

Good trade in price. But I'm stuck on 90's reliability. I'd be looking at fodo accords from the 90's. That's just me.

If you're happy with the price, make the jump. They are good cars. Taco is out at a concert and will most likely not be in the right mind set when he gets back but maybe tomorrow he could give you an idea on if that price is good as with your trade in value.

As far as newer cars... I just don't get it, I'd take a 2013-2014 model subaru over any 1990s honda. Now if I could make ends meet and had no money left over for savings, I'd totally rock a mid 90s honda before moving to something else, but at some point in life, time is money and to have for the most part a problem free 4-5 years and zero worries over warranty work. its IMO worth it.

Linhs 07 civic is now at 140K miles, dealership replaced 3rd gear, and also the rear control arms. zero cost to us.

Currently looking at replacement options for when the civic gets in the 200K+ range and more issues start showing up. Thinking either a Camry, rav 4 (new ones are nice, old ones BLAH!) or maybe a Forster or Legacy.

Once the time comes and we get seat time, we'll know. Camry is pulling great MPH, we had one as a rental, and it really blew me away for a $22K car.

I really like the Accord's new body style. Looks pretty nice to me.

We got a baby coming soon too. My wife will be getting a new(er) car later (summer time). It's her choice...kinda lol. Honda/Acura/Toyota/Lexus/Subaru.

Idk. I'm probably just at a different point in life. But for me, I like that I can have my car for 3 years, for 1 flat price, plus what repairs it needs. I feel like I owe my civic. It never let me down, and I don't feel like I'll ever get that from a new car. With a child in mind I can see the want for more safety though.

Ignore all these drive a old POS in life. You're married, got a kid on the way and need the stability becase you'll be so busy.

I vote Subaru. For 17k, that's great. You'll have good reliability and AWD and its a good looking car in my opinion. Where you live and where your wife comes and goes from everyday is probably a good justification for AWD.

green brackets of death.....

it's a pita to change plugs and you gotta drop the engine to change a valve cover gasket. They are good cars but the boxter engine is hard to work on if you plan on doing anything yourself or you'll pay out the ass to have it done. My .02. I like the cars but for that reason I stay away

I probably won't ever turn a wrench on a new car outside of changing the oil. Too much S I can break.

i like the accord allot to but its a v6. thats the only thing i was really unsure about. are they as reliable as the 4cyl? i know they dont get the mileage but there not terrible at supposedly just under 30

Avoid.

I proved it to myself AGAIN (I thought I learned my lesson the first time) You don't win at car financing.

Love my legacy, I can honestly say when it is time for a new car another subaru it will be. Comfortable, decent on gas and i can fit the stroller and kids stuff in the trunk with room to spare.
