So did anyone end up getting an Xbone or a PS4? Thoughts?

xbone sounds like a pr0n site xD

I don't get the craze. it's fun once in a while, but I honestly think adults take gaming way too serious and invest (read: waste) so much of their time and money on this stuff. I don't know how people find the time to dedicate 23432432432 hours to beating every game that comes out and #trends.

fuck, I'm old :(

Well, gaming has changed quite a bit from the Nintendo/Genesis days. The online services have made it into another way to socialize. I think that's why Call of Duty is so big...it's not that it's really that great of a game anymore, people just like it because it's something they can do with their friends.

But yeah, I tend not to do anything with a subscription fee (well, aside from just the yearly Xbox Live or PSN cost). I tried playing World of Warcraft many years back. Enjoyed it but didn't love it. Had no motivation to actually pay for it once my free month trial ran out.

I still enjoy a good single player game, but I tend to pick just the best reviewed ones instead of buying every single one that comes along. Like you said...ain't nobody got time for that as an adult!

It probably depends on your personality too though. I'm definitely a textbook introvert (not shy, it's not the same thing), so I need "decompression time" away from people in order to recharge and relieve stress. Gaming and exercise are mostly how I accomplish that...

nope........

eventually will be an XBone though.

I picked up a PS4 about a week ago. Enjoying it quite a bit so far, but mostly I'm just playing CoD ($10 upgrade if you have it for an older console and surprisingly looks SOOOO much nicer on upgraded hardware) and some free games that I got from PSN (Resogun, Don't Starve, and Outlast, which is fucking TERRIFYING!). Neither console really has any "must have" games right now in my opinion...

I ended up with an Xbox One. I have Forza and Ghosts at the moment. My soon has been playing the free kinect adventures game though. I like that he can have his own profile and still use Netflix and all that jazz but I am able to lock his profile down. I signed up for the Titanfall beta so hopefully I can get in on that. Looks pretty cool so far. At least it is possibly a bit different than Call of Duty and Battlefield.

I found that playing CoD on a big TV with higher resolution is actually very helpful in picking off distant targets. Made me realize how terribly archaic and blurry looking the old console hardware was...
