Bill Nye vs Ken Ham (6,000 year old earth) debate

I will say, as someone who thinks Ken Ham is full of shit (both before and after watching this), Bill Nye did lose, because he brought easily refutable evidence to a man who spends every waking moment fighting this fight. Every time Ken Ham gave an answer without referring to the bible as a scientific text, he easily slam dunked Bill Nye.

Both of these clowns are extremist. When those types get together, we learn nothing.

Pre-history is always an educated guess. If it wasn't, it would be "history".

Right off the bat I already like Ken Ham. I should probably pick up one of his books.

Edit: I'm not religious in the slightest, for anyone wondering. lol

His entire debate is based on what he's read in the bible though, so I'd disagree with you on this.

Can I recant this statement? His first half hour of comments made me dislike him.

"what if anything would change your mind?"

Ken = I'm a Christian. As a Christian, I have a foundation, as a Christian, I would ask Bill a question..." [avoids answering the question directly]

Bill = "We would just need evidence ... I have a question, Ken, what can you prove?"

Debate over. Bill wins this.

Okay. Now Ken Ham his pissing me off.

Damn it. I literally hate that guy. I think I'll forego buying anything by him. Bill Nye for the fucking win.

Cel, Bill Nye an extremist? Did you watch this? Or any of his shows in the past?

Ken Ham keeps telling Bill Nye that he wasn't there to witness the past; however, Ham can't see that he, himself, was not there when the Bible was written?

I really wish Bill Nye would have used that point.

If these folks that seem to be anti-science would actually live a life without technology instead of going home in their SUV to watch cable tv, I might actually respect their opinions. It's the hypocrisy of them reaping the benefits of science every day while decrying it that gets to me.

Creationists will simply be the monkeys that don't evolve.

Joe Rogan does a great bit about attempting to explain Noah's Ark to a retarded child. Not only is it hilarious, it disproves all these folks as well.

Religion is a crutch. Some people think they need it and are afraid to try walking without it.

Look up some of the Richard Dawkins debates, hes much more educated and versed in the subject of science vs. religion. His book The God Delusion is a really good read. He pretty much covers every debate on why God must exist.

I used to believe that you can pray to anything you want. However, Dawkins went into detail about how racist, arrogant and one sided religion (as a whole) really is. Out of everything I took from his book, that had the most impact on me.

Not an exact quote but, "Rather than admit that you don't know something, you assume that God did it."

i think people should just leave it alone, and stop trying to focus on where we came from, and instead focus on where we are going.
this whole creation vs evolution, to me, seems like the biggest government fueled distraction to keep us from paying attention to where they are leading us.

get them to focus on the past, and they'll never know where their future is headed.
