It's only stupid if it doesn't work

Yup. Went to run to the store tonight and the handle just snapped right off. No big deal right? Jumped online to order a replacement, and I can't find one. They make them for DAs, EGs, and EKs, why can't I find a new DC door handle? I also can't find any definitive answers on if anything is interchangeable. EK handles look the same, but IDK.

I'd prefer not go used because I don't want to be right back where I started in a few months.

Had that happen to me once, i bought a new one directly from Acura. It was already painted championship white and everything.

Not a bad idea.
I saw those. At that price, might as well spend a little more and get a new one in the right color.
Damn nice find.

I actually found a set of doors in the right color on CL last night. I'm waiting for a price from the guy. Driver's side is OK, dinged and what not, but my passenger is fucked from a nice person in a parking lot. They also have power locks, haha. If I can get them cheap, why not. If not, I'll definitely be getting it from Acura.

I'd love to get a set of brand new, color matched 4 door rears. Maybe I'll give them a call.

Finally heard back from the guy. He has both doors with panels and both fenders for $200. I think it's a decent deal. My fenders aren't in great shape either. Maybe breaking a handle will get me motivated to get the car looking right again, haha.

Haha, I should have started it before I redid the whole suspension. But would anyone really be interested in me replacing really old parts with oem replacements on my daily?

you'd be surprised. Sometimes people just want to see how its done, not care about the actual replacement unit

Perhaps I'll start a build thread then.

Probably not though. Going to check out new doors and new fenders tonight. Woohoo!

dont need to do it as a full build thread just individual project threads
full build threads are fun to follow sometimes but they become too cumbersome

for example:
how to: replace a 3rd gen integra door handle
and go....

...
...
fin.

Well it'll be "How to replace a G3 DC door" thanks to CL, haha. Literally 2 doors and 2 fenders, in the right color, came on CL about 2 hours after I broke the handle.

Alright, so tonight I picked up 2 MINT GSR doors. Even came with tan door panels, so it's an unbolt, rebolt procedure. I've very happy about it. Also picked up 2 fenders. One is mint, one is better than what I have on there. Price was right. Hopefully everything will be bolted on the car within the week.

Probably put his own tumblers in.

Good luck with those lower rear fender bolts. They always seem to bust on cars up here.

with keys?
Surprisingly, yes. I'm going to see about swapping my locks or just getting 4 door rears.

I'm getting pretty good with PB and heat. Snap enough bolts, and the skill seems to develop.
Multi colored car?
Depends what year GSR the doors came off of. I actually didn't realize Acura had 2 different dark greens on the Integras.

Cypress Green was for 94-97- Code G-82P (What I have)

Clover Green was for 98-01- Code G-95P

Here's the thing though, the door panels are off a tan cloth interior. The GSR was standard leather in 99. So these are off a car from 94-98. So there's a 1 in 5 chance that these are off a Clover Green car. Hopefully they match, but frankly I think they're pretty close anyway. Better than red or white doors. I'll have to check and see if the doors have a color code when I get home.
