New show I saw last week. Assumed from the title that it would be a douche-fest. Went into it figuring it was going to be pretty lame but I found it to be pretty amusing.
Has anyone else watched it?

"Chronicles the exploits of singles, five guys and five girls, in search of love all over the course of one night. "

Here is a review off IMDB.
I found the writing to be shockingly dreadful, offensive and virulently anti-female. Television critic Tim Goodman nailed this show when he wrote "The level of tone deafness in the writing of Mixology is astounding." And continues on to call it "a misogynistic piece of frat-boy awfulness". The way these men think about and speak about women is nothing short of appalling.
Most guys think of women that way. Frat boys just say it out loud.

The women aren't much better as their near total lack of self-worth is contained in every word and every too short skirt. The whole thing calls out for a cultural intervention / revolution.
Have you ever talked to a woman? Most lack self-worth. A rare few have the correct amount of confidence. A portion have far too much confidence.
We should be so lucky as for Mixology's inevitable cancellation to serve notice on Hollywood executives that this kind of writing has got to go. Enough. No more.
Sounds like I need to check it out. People didn't like Lucky Louie, Arrested Development, or Freaks and Geeks. Not saying this show is on that level, but it's off to a good start by pissing off amateur movie/TV critics.

Chronicles the exploits of singles, five guys and five girls, in search of love all over the course of one night.

Recently dumped by his fiancee, Tom hasn't been out on the town in a decade. His best friends, Cal and Bruce, are throwing Tom back into the dating pool whether he likes it or not. Tom's first encounter is with Maya, an attorney who's as beautiful as she is brutal.

the first episode talks about how the guy introduced his friend to this girl in college, and she was basically a slut but he fell for her
the one line that i thought was pretty funny was, "they used to smash it out 5 times a week..."

[-_-] Men-hating feminists hating women that don't also hate men... [-_-]

Yeah, won't be watching that. I can feel my IQ dropping just from reading the reviews. Maybe if a show called Mixology was about how to make different cocktails and other beverages, I'd watch the shit out of that.

its more about being a man whore i would say, might not be your cup of tea.
i originally thought it would be some hipster shit show with a title like mixology, and that is why i was planning for it to suck.
we'll see how it plays out, only caught the last 20 minutes lastnight, there were a couple good lines.

Like Ink Master, but for booze. I'd watch that. Definitely. Most real tattoo artists hate Ink Master though. Selling out isn't a huge problem for bartenders.

i don't get you guys wanting to see a show about mixing drinks
how hard is it to put scotch in a glass with or without ice???

Because i would love to see ways to make old and elder fashions.

It's interesting to see what other people come up with.

I agree, I'm usually a bourbon or a beer. Or a shot of bourbon in my beer. But ocassionally I'll get a little crazy. When I was a bartender, I loved getting creative with it. Ever been to a bartending competition? They can get interesting if you have some seriously talented bartenders there. Throwing shit, lighting stuff on fire, or just mixing seemingly random ingredients to create some really good. It's like watching Flaming Dr Peppers get made all night. It really doesn't get old.

Then again, you also have hipsters who won't make a vodka drink, or get so complex that a single drink takes 20 minutes and costs $50+.
