It's only stupid if it doesn't work

I know. You were all checking your new posts every day to see what I've been up to. Anyway, there are a few new developments in my life, so I thought I'd share.

1- Added a new vehicle to the fleet in late February.

I absolutely love it. I've wanted a truck for awhile now and I'd recommend the Ram 1500 to anyone. And I still have the Integra for when I don't need to be driving the truck. Big thanks to Wil aka @civicious, he helped me (again) keep the Integra on the road in these past few months.

2- Another new addition in my life

Finally found myself a good one. IDK why she puts up with me, but I'm glad she does.

3- After a 2 week, west coast business trip in late March/early April, I was unceremoniously laid off. I hated the job and was on the look out for a new one, so collecting unemployment while I look doesn't seem like too bad a gig. On the same token, I think I'm done with office jobs. I hated it since day 1. So that being said, I'm exploring a few options.
a. I'm taking a cop test next month. I have a ton of friends that are cops, and they all seem pretty satisfied. Good pay, pension, most have 25 years for full retirement, and some even work 180 days a year.
b. Skilled labor. I'd love to go to welding or plumbing school. I've always enjoyed working with my hands. Both professions are seriously in need in my area (and every where), but there is also a lack of schools in my area.
c. Commercial Diver/Underwater Welder. I actually found a school in NJ and was filling out the paperwork to enroll when I got the offer letter for this last job.
d. Restaurant management. I've been in food service most of my working life. I certainly have the skill set for this and I have the ins if I decide to go this route. I don't really want to do this, but it's a fall back. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I will not be working 9-5. After doing both, I think I actually prefer shift work.

I think that brings us to the current day. Not sure if I missed anything.

Good lookin truck and chick. What's she got in the cup? Vodka and some sort of mixer? If so, she's a keeper.

My guess would be a Bud Light. That pic is from NYE, and I was pretty in the bag at that point. I think my drink was the girly one. Hard cider with a slug of Fireball in it. Dangerous combo.

I guess that is just foam on the top. If it's really Bud Light, then you don't have a keeper. lol

Lookin good all the way around.

Got one of them there trucks myself. Aside from pumping gas into it what seems like every other day, it's fantastic.

That's just her go to. She really liked the 60 Minute I made her try too.

I've learned to not let it get too low, haha. If the light is on, it's $85+ to fill it. Worst yet was $95. Usually around $70-75 though. My only criticism is I wish I could switch the MDS on and off rather than having it be automatic. 98% of the time, I don't need 395 hp.

Nice truck and girl. What are you guys getting for mpg on those? I won't be truck shopping for a while due to not wanting to get rid of my man pedal but I am curious incase I need to.

Oh yeah thanks for changing your avatar, its mixes me up.

I get about 17.5 on average. That's about 80% freeway driving. I've gotten over 19 on a road trip with the cruise set at 75. It's not good around town. Maybe 14.

Good call on the Dodge. I've had my 09 3500 since mid-2010 and I've put 135k on it, and I love the shit out of it.

Not bad on the dishwasher, either :)

I get around 17mpg too. But I'll be between 80-85mph on the highway and it's hard to not jump on it on the on ramp. So much fun. I need to get a removable, soft tonneau cover. Also want to build a removable bed mounted ski/board rack before next winter.

Haha, didn't go searching for it. Just came across it. Never owned a duck or a turbo, but love both.

I love the Dodge brand. Old stuff, new stuff, everything. Also a Jeep fan, so if I was going new, it was coming out of that building.

Thanks. I really like her. Smart, funny, laid back, similar world views. We seriously have never fought (knock on wood).

I'm a fan of newer dodge's. I also like anything with a cummins....

My buddy has an 03 ram 1500 he got new in high school. It's got super low miles but the most random shit breaks on it. Heater core, ac, radiator, hoses, electrical crap, etc. Overall a great truck otherwise.

nice truck, and congrats on the new lady
i wouldn't give up on the degree too quickly just because of one bad job
it sounds like that environment just wasn't a good fit for you.
you can always try tax prep and see how it works out for you
work a few months out of the year and kick back the rest of the year if you work for yourself.
just something to consider.
