think of that gotboost guy here doing the AWD conversion. he pulled his car from that shady shop after a quick minute.

Dang....

I think he probably has other go fast toys and just throws money at fixing things and assumed they were legit and getting a straight deal. But G'zus that's bad.

Jesus. I wouldn't even want to take that car on as a 2nd shop. what a disaster.

If i was the owner, i'd be going to court.

The owner of that shop must be one smooth son of a bitch. To allow that car to remain with that shop for so long is crazy.

I couldn't believe the pictures of the wiring. How could someone think that is even remotely acceptable.

Still looking forward to what comments Wil has to make.

nope. as soon as the build went more than 3 or so months over, i would have pulled the car out before then.

i understand that sometimes things take longer than expected, but quoted two months and it takes 5? nope. i would have had the car out of there by the 4th month.
and then, for that long and it poops after a week, i would have taken it to another shop.

paying 40k, and getting pushed back like that wouldnt happen. if im paying top dollar, i expect first class/priority treatment.
but to allow this to go on for 3 years? the car owner is dumber than the dickwad that mutilated that car.

I know many people who spent major money on builds and most of them ran 5 times longer than quoted but on the flip side normally a small build turns into big builds and things keep changing as the build goes on.

Unless you've dropped big money on a build it's easy to say what you would and wouldn't have done. Truth is most all shops take time. You pull it out of one and put it into another you just back stuff up even longer. Keep in mind these are normally custom jobs not a basic kit install.
Built motor, turbo kit, custom parts to make turbo kit work correctly since it didn't, custom fuel lines, full fuel system, stand alone engine management, tuning...

Even my civic took 2 motors and 3 times as long as expected. Shit happens.

$40k ain't shit for a full build, especially for a lambo. I personally have friends, yes more than one who put more into their 350Zs.

i read some forum posts between this guy and the shop owner.

cliffs:
shop owner says that the OP did many things against his advice.
ran the race gas map on pump gas
insisted on high HP without upgrading the internals
made manual changes to the fuel/boost ECU maps
tampered with the wiring of the ECU as well as wiring in a sound system. (which the shop owner claims is what is pictured)
shop owner paints a portrait of a very aggressive and intimidating OP "bad customer" kind of vibe.

OP says one thing
shop owner says another
the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

im sure the OP tampered with the car. and when he broke it, cried foul at the shop. I also think that the shop should have refused to do certain mods to the car without requiring supporting upgrades to handle them. and even with all the bad mouthing that the OP has given to the shop, the owner STILL offers to fix the guys car for free.

after reading those posts. im kind of on the shops side in this.

edit, was gonna link it, but looks like the thread was deleted.
