So I've been watching a lot of anime recently because, well, TV these days sucks. Thought I'd start a thread to post favorites, things you think people should watch, and what you're watching currently. I think leaving off the staples of Bleach and Naruto is kind of a given. I've definitely watched more than this, but these are the ones worth your time.

The one's I'm gonna list are all 1-2 season shows and mostly new stuff, but feel free to put in whatever you want.

All of these are available on CrunchyRoll or Funimation

Watching:
Akame Ga Kill! (Fantasy, sword fighting)
Sword Art Online II (3rd arc of SAO, pretty decent so far)
Aldnoah Zero (Amazing mech anime, really like it)

Seen:
Chobits (Funny, slightly perverted)
Infinite Stratos (Funny, Mech, Slightly perverted)
Future Diary (Survival Game)

Netflix produced one of their own, "Knights of Sidonia". Haven't watched it yet, but it looks pretty good.

I watched knights of sidonia. I liked it. A bit short though. Hope there's a season 2. From what I hear, Netflix didn't really produce this. It was made independently in Japan, Netflix just paid for the translation. (I watch in Japanese with Subs anyway)

My gf has been getting me to watch more lately. Some things I've watched in the last few months.

Steins Gate
Kill la Kill
Samurai Champloo
Attack on Titan
Fairy Tail
Sekirei
Knights of Sidonia
Full Metal Alchemist

Just started Persona 4, and have a few others queued up. I think Steins Gate has been my favorite one so far. With Samurai Champloo being my 2nd fav.

On the list to watch:
Hunter x Hunter
Sword Art Online
Elfen Lied
Blue Exorcist
Claymore

Elfen Lied is pretty good and Kill La Kill is definitely on my to watch list.

Stein's Gate kept putting me to sleep, i like the premise and the characters I just wish the plot was slightly more exciting.

I'm hardcore into time travel. And I loved the characters. But my gf couldn't get into it for the same reasons, even though she knows it's one of the best animes out there (based on reviews). It picks up about halfway through so you have to just get over the hump. Same with Samurai Champloo.

Yeah, i finished it and I will say that I did like the ending.

Attack on Titan is pretty good. Season 1 is on Netflix. Have not found a legit source for the subsequent seasons though. Sword Art Online is good. Arc 3 was a little out there. A lot more fan service in that season for sure. I need to watch Full metal Alchemist as well. I have just recently started watching anime. Outside of initial D. I still need to finish that as well.

I havent watched brotherhood yet, but FMA is a good show, and not ungodly long either.

Add to your queue:

Monster <-- one of the best in my opinion
Excel Saga
Bleach (hope you've watched it)
One Piece
Macross Zero
Lain
Kenshin (hope you've watched this one by now too)
Thundercats 2011+ (new series, tons of fan service for our generation)
Trigun
Tenjou Tenge
Vision of Escaflowne
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex
Twelve Kingdoms
Gunslinger Girl

I've forgotten way more titles than I can think of..

Yeah, I've seen a lot of those...most of my titles were new stuffs, cause if you're into anime you've seen most of the classics...and if you haven't, you need to, cause classics are a thing for a reason.

Although I will admit, I bought gunslinger girl for the title and the box art....story was pretty slow given what it's about.

I thought it was pretty good, but I watched it all on a series of plane rides and loved the shock value for the passengers next to me watching me watching little kids kill people. :D

Forgot to add Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I considered that to be one of the classics that he should have already watched... I watched it almost 20 years ago myself.

Just finished Elfen Lied and SAO (first 2 arcs)

Watching High School of the Dead now.

An oldie, but goodie is the robotech and gundam wing series. I have been watching anime for over 20 years and I forget all the good titles. I wanted to subscribe for recommendations and I will add more as I remember things.

I know almost nothing about this stuff. But our oldest has been going to a Anime Convention all weekend. My wife hand made him an outfit. Karito is the character.....I think. It's a black and gray trench coat looking thing. He grew his hair out and temporarily dyed it black. He's getting lots of positive comments so my wife did good. Not sure if it got him some tang but I guess that would be a bonus.
